I cannot comment on the decisions made by their Investment Committee - they look for what they perceive as lucrative risk-weighted pharmaceutical royalty opportunities.

I only mentioned them as they are one of the significant players in the market who are prepared to buy into future royalties [where their buy funds are used to prove the target drug / class of drugs].

Consolidation would help; so would the long awaited competent person's report.

Most seem to have given up on the favoured uncle exercising his options but the true disciples are still able to explain this conundrum away.

I take it that neither of you know of Royalty Pharma - have you any idea of what drugs that they have bought into, the value of their portfolio or how deep their pockets are?

If there is a 'book deal' to be had, I would expect them to be at the 'top of the table' if Scancell were 'hawking their wares' and the 'big boys' wanted in on any deal based on 'an advance on future royalties'.

More likely the shorters have an insight that suggests to them that a share is overvalued and then they try and take advantage of the weakness that they have perceived. They profit if correct of lose if wrong; it is just a part of an efficient market.

Private Equity caused the problems - once they have chewed the meat of the bones there is normally little but gristle and bare bones left. Caveat Emptor - always wonder why the 'financial whizz kids' want to sell you something after they have done feeding on the corpse, even if it takes time to decay. From a 2018 Independent article:
