This relates to the Abcam NEDs but I think it should apply to all Directors of companies such as VAL that are reliant on raising additional funds whilst trying to prove that their science will become commercial [Abcam have been paying dividends for years].

A bio share that I am invested in required their Directors to spend 30 percentage of their remuneration buying shares on the open market - a similar policy here might align the BODs interests more with shareholders.

Proposing and passing a resolution along these lines [possibly until VAL start paying dividends] without increasing their remuneration [other than by CPI] would force them to show financial commitment to their company that they claim to be approaching value inflection points.

Either it is a lifestyle company [which I do not subscribe to] or they should be prepared to invest and suffer dilution if and when further funds have to be raised.

As Private Investors own such a large proportion of the shares in issue I would expect such a resolution to be easily passed if enough of you are prepared to be a little more active and enforce your shareholder rights. I would even go as far as suggesting that a shareholder representative be appointed to the Board [ValJu?].

Surely there has been enough averaging down and dilution?

This may be of some interest as I expect that any production from the Lagoa Salgada deposit will use Nyrstar's smelters, so this rescue deal could be positive for MAFL [but WTFDIK].

The Market Makers are offering shares at a lower price than normal - make me wonder if they think that they know something that Private Investors do not.

If you are a true believer surely you are waiting for dividends.

And not all value the share price at more than 5p - some expect a further fundraising round which could depress the price further but it would mean that the potential rewards would be greater.

But sitting on the sidelines precludes those on the sidelines from benefitting on any share price increase in the interim.
