Now over $2,770. Will this tempt buyers into AAU? Is the small correction in the price this morning now over?

The gold price has jumped to $2,769.

The gold price is on its way to $3,000 in November. I feel confident of that because at the end of last year I read price forecasts from two fund managers who gave forecasts for the gold price at various points throughout this year and their forecasts for April and July turned out to be correct. They both said $3,000 gold in November, and from about July this year many others have jumped on the $3,000 in November bandwaggon..

Looking at the chart, this recent jump does look like a very steep spike, so there could be a bit of a correction. If so, I will use any fallback as a buying opportunity because the steep spike is only "toppy" in the short term. Looking at the chart on a longer term view, the price is still below previous highs and I expect those previous highs to soon be overtaken.

Those who are selling today at 3.0p are making the same mistake as those who sold last week at 2.1p.

This has been extremely oversold, but those days are over. The potential and the value are now being recognised.

Those who sold at the start of last week have now missed out on a rise of almost fifty per cent and I reckon there is plenty more to come.

There's a bit of selling by profit takers \ weak hands being shaken off. A bull market always shakes out the weak hands. They are selling at 2.8p \ 2.9p.

At the start of last week, people were selling at 2.1p. What do they think of 2.8 \ 2.9 today - roughly 38% higher.

I previously said - "I am now convinced that before the end of November, those who sold a few days ago will have missed out on a rise of at least 100%." That was referring to those who sold at 2.1p, so the sp needs to hit 4.2p in November for my opinion to be proved correct..

Wed - The Budget - CGT to go up, we know that, but by how much? Will they also absolutely rob savers by targeting shares held in ISAs?

I agree with you that FRES is never going to go to £24 with silver at $34, but I wasn't making a forecast on that. I was merely stating a fact.

However I'm fairly confident that silver will soon be at $50, but I'm not so confident that even $50 will lift FRES to £24.

I'd like to see a shocker come out of Kazan (it's on from the 22nd to the 24th) that sends silver to $100, but then I'm a dreamer

I followed James Turk for years, from about 2002 to 2011 and his forecasts were spot on. He was very insightful.

Since 2011, he has many times said that once silver hits $28, then it will soon break through $30 in its way to $50.

I got sick of seeing silver get to $26, then one of Turk's articles would come out predicting $28 then the jump to $30, but within hours the silver price would begin to plunge and eventually drop to $22 or even $20. It seemed to me that the cartel crashed the price just to prove him wrong.

I hope he is right this time. We don't have long to wait to find out.

Like you, when I first bought in, I was surprised to see stamp duty being paid on an AIM stock. Someone kindly told us that the stamp duty exemption for AIM stocks is not automatic. The company has to apply for it, and SRB hasn't applied for it.

By the way, I remember when FRES was at 2,400p per share. That's right, it was over twenty four quid a share.
