RE: The Mail tips SRB6 Sep 2024 13:58
BPat890 - thanks for listing the positives, but some holders might be wondering why, despite all of that good news, the sp isn't far higher than it is.
If a tech stock, say Apple, Samsung or nVidia, had announced those figures, had a new factory about to start producing more products, was getting higher prices for its products and had a stockpile of inventory that they were about to convert into cash, the sp would have rocketed, so why didn't the SRB sp?
I recently heard Max Keiser say this - "The price of a stock, I learned when I was a stockbroker in New York many years ago, half of the price of a stock is determined by the overall market direction, another quarter of the valuation is determined by the sector that that particular company is in, then only twenty-five per cent of a stock's direction is determined by the individual stock itself."
As Keiser says, the stock itself accounts for only twenty-five per cent of the share price movement and as we know, the PM sector is unloved.
The sp will be held back until sentiment for the sector changes.
Let's hope that will be soon.
