The rumoured interest from several parties in ITV could turn into a tense drama, amid the perception that there is 'trapped value' in its studios arm which delivers shows as diverse as Love Island and Coronation Street.

Also, the success of ITV X, its streaming service, has confounded expectations. The belief that the takeover talk could now be credible has led one analyst to speculate that ITV could be worth £4.5billion, against its current market capitalisation of £2.7billion.

I will reply only once to you just to set the record straight. I sold ITV 2.5 years ago to invest elsewhere, in the UK and also in the USA with Paypall & Him & Hers. I added to my largest holding BT @103p earlier this year, I've recouped all of my ITV 5 year losses. I'm happy to play out whatever is ahead with regards ITV, picking up a fine 7% dividend yield. ITV is very undervalued so I can understand why there is currently potential predators circling. Investing is not about getting every investment correct, its about getting more right than wrong. I've been investing for 40 years in the stock market, I haven't done too badly, although I've made a lot more investing in property.

Your above comment speaks volumes of what kind of person you truly are, you must make your family proud? NOT. I find it funny that 1. You think that small shareholders can change the CEO of a FTSE250 company, and 2. You still hold a grudge with ex EZJ CEO McCall for your past bad investment decisions in Easyjet. You have spent a lot of your spare time, at least the past 7 years and counting, posting comments daily, blaming someone else for your lack of investment knowledge. Priceless, McCall must live in your head rent free. I can only come to one conclusion, you must have lost the shirt off of your back in EZJ, hence your hatred towards McCall. What a sad unhealthy state of mind to be in. I pity you.

A realistic take out price at this moment in time with the share price currently @72p would be 131p per share, in my opinion. The analyst who said a doubling from 65p would be on the money. This would make sense to me, based on Studio's valuation @12X = 68p per share, Broadcasting @10X = 63p per share. Total 131p. Only a bidding war would result in a higher price in my opinion. I don't see the BOD entertaining anything less. Maybe more news over the weekend? Time will tell.

Two large trades 380,000 & 728,313 reported as sells failed to depress the share price, closing up 2.42%.

Heavy buying in the last 6 minutes of trade with over 1m shares purchased according to ADVFN data, that helped the share price close up 0.16p on the day. Over the full week the share price closed up 4.98p 15.06% @35.56p.

Fair point 1pencil, it just coincides with weakness in the share price since the trades was reported.

The two large trades were sells IMO, @33.98p was at a large discount to the share price, that has now resulted in weakness since.

Or maybe its Vanguard that have sold up.
