ITV earnings would have improved this year had it not been for the epidemic, you cannot blame everything on the Dame. I would stick with her, she has a proven track record of turning companies around. Takeover bids usually come when you least expect them. ITV don't need a takeover bid to recover. Come back in 2 years and reassess things then.

I agree. If BT were an American company trading in the USA, the valuation would be very different I'm sure. I also watched the video, it confirmed what I already suspected, well worth watching though. Thanks.

So true Toff, how on earth can BT's Market Cap of £10.50B be worth less than what BT paid for EE? With a P/E of 5.97.
It beggars belief. At some time the tide will turn, I just don't know when, maybe when the Brexit deal is done & a vaccine is sorted for this dreadful virus. Hopefully 2021 will be a better year, it certainly can't be any worse than this year.

Hi Velo, if only you had told me 20 years ago? Lol Would I have listened? Probably not.

I lost a large amount in the financial crash with RBS, made it all back in Barclays & good old Vodafone and some. I then moved in to ITV and BT, I thought that BT represented better value than VOD at the time. Main reason I didn't think that VOD's dividend wasn't sustainable, that proved right with the recent cut. Plus lower P/E in BT than VOD. You live and learn, the hard way in my case. I do think that Brexit and now this dreadful virus has played a big part in my paper losses to date.

I've done nothing but lose money since the EU referendum vote, or should I say paper loss as I haven't sold a share. I still have a chance to recoup my losses, how many years will this take is anyone's guess. I've lost too much to bailout now, not just in BT but ITV too. When I first started investing in shares in 1988, I found that it was a lot easier to make money then, than it is now. To be honest I think that the FTSE100 is corrupt to the core. I believe in both BT & ITV and I'm confident that I will recover my losses, in BT I think that I will make a very nice profit, if or when the stock market decides to value BT fairly. The stock market giveth, and the stock market taketh away.

At the last pension update the deficit stood at £1.1bln. Although, warned that the deficit is expected to increase. Not the £10bln the media would like to proclaim. I feel that there will be some very disappointed media, when the BT next pension deficit update is reported.

BT have addressed the pension deficit with the 2017 agreement in place with BT agreeing to make large contributions over the next 9 years, with £400k already paid this year, and should be in good hands.

Agreed Alex, GS are playing about with 0.04% of ITV, (and controlling 21%) making money along the way, they are blatantly controlling the share price for their own gain. This shouldn't be allowed, but it is, and the ITV BOD are powerless to stop this blatant manipulation.

Velo, I would have thought that with BT closing up, all be it very slightly that it would be a bullish sign taking in to account that the FTSE100 closing down 95 points?

Bommer, If you click on BT trades at the top of the page you will see the closing price under UT.

Not sure, maybe scientists are being over cautious, not wanting further liable cases against them. Let's hope that the wait is worth it. I'm sure anyone who's life is at risk would take the risk with the vaccine, I know that I certainly would.

Fleccy, the last report that I read (some time last week) regarding the Oxford Coroavirus vaccine stated that the vaccine was at stage 3 the final stage before being approved, it also said that it was hoped that the vaccine if approved would be available at the start of 2021. This obviously would be a massive game changer.

If we close below 62.80p today we will be down 9 out of the last 10 weeks. ITV must be the worst performing share in the FTSE100, maybe even the FTSE350, worse than airlines and travel companies. Absolutely ridiculous.

I hope that Fleccy & NDN are correct with their knowledge and also have skin in the game, this I must admit gives me confidence that BT will come out of all this in good health, and a recovery in the share price given time.

I must say I enjoy reading you comments and thank Aus for lets say the bear argument regarding BT. It's good to hear all opinions, positive & negative. I know that Fleccy & NDN have had careers in the telecoms industry, I'm not sure about Aus?

My question to Aus is, and I mean no disrespect with this question. (I value your opinion) Why do you continue to hold BT if you have a lets say low/negative opinion of BT? I also note that you've previously said that you think that BT are undervalued at the moment.

As I wright this the ITV share price is down 5.18% all the good work of this week wiped out, for what reason? Nothing, no news that I've found other than GS manipulating the share price yet again. I'm afraid we are at the mercy of GS until they are done with ITV the share price is going nowhere.
