I agree it's a potential vaccine. In my opinion there is a race on around the world to find a vaccine for this dreadful virus. I'm confident that one will be found, just a matter of when.

Thanks for your reply NDN, yes things to be positive about going forward. Let's hope that the government let BT make good profits going forward.

Barclays lifted its stance on BT to 'equalweight' from 'underweight' on Tuesday, upping the price target to 130p from 115p as it said Openreach's plans to build fibre-to-the-premises for 20 million homes over the next five to 10 years will be a positive.

NDN, would I be right in thinking that if as you say BT will need far fewer buildings, this would lead to far less electricity and also savings on leasing the buildings plus less VAT? I'm sure that there maybe other savings involved too.

It's the first day in 9 that we have closed up, all be it only up 0.04p.

I'm hoping that next weeks H1 results will give some stability to the share price, one option that would help this would be the reinstating of the dividend. The ITV BOD's should be looking to give the market some confidence going forward, no better way than rewarding loyal shareholders with a dividend. Fail to do so would leave ITV vulnerable to a low ball bid that would leave the BOD in a very weak position. The ITV BOD were on the ball preserving cash (stopping our dividend) at the time of the outbreak of this dreadful virus, and also took advantage of the furlough scheme, so let's see if the BOD have the confidence in future earnings going forward. Time for the BOD to step up.

I'm of the same opinion, and willing wait it out. By the year 2025 the majority of the Fibre will have been laid and BT will be a lot better position going forward. Patience is needed.

ITV owns 90% of Britbox, BBC 10%. I think that I remember reading that the BBC has an option to increase it's shareholding in future.

ITV (ITV) is trading on a ‘very modest’ valuation despite the broadcaster moving swiftly to conserve cash as the pandemic hit, says Shore Capital.

Analyst Roddy Davidson retained his ‘buy’ recommendation on the shares. The group withdrew financial guidance earlier this year as Covid-19 struck but Davidson is expecting at least a ‘high level steer’ in the interim results.

He said the group did ‘act rapidly to protect its financial position through lockdown’, including furloughing staff, identifying £60m of savings, and suspending the dividend.

‘We will revisit our forecasts and recommendation following these results to assess whether our initial Covid-19 rebasing exercise struck the right balance,’ said Davidson.

‘In the meantime, we rate ITV’s stock valuation as very modest although STV (STV) remains our preferred play in the broadcast space.’

Experts have previously said that the content alone is worth £4bln, or 100p per share.

Netflix and Amazon, with their bottomless pockets, had cornered the streaming market to such a degree that even such titans as Apple, HBO and Disney must have thought twice about dipping their toes in the water. What chance does a platform that, to the casual observer, seems to consist of box sets of Miss Marple and last year’s Love Island have against that lot?

However, the past few weeks has suggested that this plucky little British endeavour (a joint venture between ITV plc and BBC Studios) just might have what it takes to succeed.

I for one am not expecting a takeover of ITV, on the other hand I wouldn't be surprised if there was a bid. Let's face it none of us know if there will be a bid, just like people who say that there won't be a bid, none of us know. All that I would say is if there is an interested party out there, if they don't make a move now then they never will. ITV don't need a takeover bid to recover, the business will recover in time. The game changer would be a vaccine for this dreadful virus. JMO.

I couldn't agree more Alex, ITV are a sitting duck, and will go to the highest bidder, just like SKY did.
