I found that presentation this week and I did think there is another sensor or sensors potentially and the webinar made reference to others that they wouldn’t be discussing and that there’s more to come.

Nanoco are aware there is a delay with ST’s pipeline so I’m not sure they don’t know anything and they will update us in October. Maybe they will increase their guidance or maybe they will reduce expectations but I’m certain that Gen1 and the technology it enables ST to develop are not dead otherwise as mentioned before they would have to tell the marke and they’d have done it at the same time for there’s no benefit in not doing so. Now I’m not saying it won’t be cancelled but my view remains it’s just taking longer to integrate rather than some issues on performance of the materials.

Results are funny things and the city isn’t a huge fan of massive unguided surprises in the upside either. I maintain my view that ST are finding the adoption of the technology is going to take longer than previously anticipated and that has a knock down effect on Nanoco who are now saying they’re going to do more robust market analysis before they update next. Seems sensible to me.

As I mentioned yesterday there was financial guidance given that included revenue from a second order in FY24 hence the announcement when they were made aware and the adjustment to the financials. I think that’s appropriate rather than showing a miss in earnings later without an explanation or an admission they withheld information that impacts the company results.

They can’t get anything right in some people’s eyes. I’m not surprised given the past but I’m not concerned as I think what they say is being scrutinised unjustly at times.

They had guided in March that they were looking for a 3rd party in the next 6 months or thereabouts so they are updating us on their progress in this regard.

What would you say if BT said we are going to put all our eggs in one basket and rely on ST for everything and we’re not going to explore other business opportunities anywhere else?
