A top businessman once praised by Tony Blair was jailed for six years today for taking part in one of Britain's biggest accountancy cons.

Carl Cushnie, 53, spent years enjoying a City reputation as a financial genius while secretly indulging in what a senior judge called "work of fantasy" in order to pocket £23 million from investors.

He was helped in his eight-year-long betrayal by right-hand man and finance chief Frederick Clough, who hid a criminal past and professional disgrace to additionally pull off a much bigger scam which left banks and shareholders £170 million the poorer.

The 66-year-old pensioner received a similar sentence after Mr Justice Jackson accused him of being responsible for "one of the worst examples of conspiracy to defraud" ever likely to be encountered.

Auditors are actually useless at uncovering potential fraud by company execs..I should know I was in years ago where the finance director double or even triple counted customer order to inflate accounts/profits. He finally got prosecuted and ended up in jail by creditor actions, the auditors were useless.

Git in its most basic form is like checkpoints in a game. Every so often you want a checkpoint so in case you destroy everything, it's okay. You can just restart at a checkpoint.

You play around, level up and want to save your character. First, you need to mark your character and say 'I want to save this. Mark this guy for saving' This is staging a commit (Git add xxx)

You confirm that you want to save the character. Before you do, the game asks you to write a message so you know what this save just did. Once make a message it will save the game TO YOUR CONSOLE (more on this later in the remote bit). Congrats You just did a commit

Turns out the game can save files online so you can pick up on any console. All you have to do is tell it to save the files on your console to the online versions This is the remote repositories
