Indeed, lets see how transparent they are with tomorrows questions, will they dodge the awkward ones or face them full on. I will be watching closely as this will for me and no doubt for others help formulate the bigger picture.

It's coming home to roost thanks to Ed and his mad Net Zero, which never had any chance in 'ell of meeting his self imposed target. Energy transition YES, but not at the annihilation of our NS industry.

You can easily read the room with the posture and faces of the CEO's present at this meeting, they are not happy at all, esp Linda Cook, staring down Rachel, neither should they be imo.

So it's proven to be, exactly was I posted a few days ago .... "EPL will remain until they suck in every last drop of 'windfall' taxes from the Iran crisis,.." There is no reason for a delay, who's to say how long this may go on for or indeed if we have another 'price shock', given Putin's recent comments that could also be closer than HMG think, that's assuming they actually do 'think' !!

We already have a replacement, the OGPM, just a case of making it happen. Guess the issue is, what model comes into effect and maybe what off book quid pro quo deal is required, ie guarantee $$ investment etc. For god sake Rachel just get on with it, the idea behind the OGPM was to quote, "This new

regime will be designed to respond to future price shocks and provide a predictable environment for investment", little late, but never too late !

Good day to bury ditching of the EPL given what's happening elsewhere.... Rachel from accounts will not have an easier opportunity!!

It's been spamming the boards all w/e and today again with yet another alias .....

So we have another spike in Brent and NBP, that's a good enough reason to announce extending the EPL(WFT) and delaying its replacement, the OGPM until 2040 in the Spring Statement then !

Yes, NBP up +50% and rising !

What the UK Gov fails to grasp is the less you tax the more incentive to invest and hence more primary and secondary taxes collected and when you do have situations like Iran then you also incur a real windfall of tax receipts but to use EPL as a weapon to raise more taxes on the basis of 'cost of living' and 'extraordinary profits' is utterly and totally counterproductive, as its shown to be over the last 4 years.

Unfortunately Upomega, I tend to agree with you, EPL will remain until they suck in every last drop of 'windfall' taxes from the Iran crisis, maybe a rethink after that, by then it will be probably too late to recover NS investment back to where it should of always been !!! Only hope is the conflict is short-lived, lets hope so for more than one reason.
