It does sound like a no brainer.

Harbour would save 48% of 455$ dollars more year = 218$ million per year minus an interest charge of 35 million in interest per year (assuming rate of 3.5% per year)

Does that seem right?

Just filled out my AGM and voted yes to Harbour buying BASF shares.

I don’t understand why BASF would sell at this price but if they do what a bargain.

So it would only cost us 670 million shares x £1.60 is just over £1 Billion, if that right.

Seems to cheap to get hold of nearly 47% of company.

Any thoughts…???

Also why would BASF co sided selling at such a huge loss?..

Have we heard anything about BASF from themselves or Harbour about their plans?

Don't think BASF are selling at present from what I hear.

Plus no RNS which we would definitely see...

Would love to know their and Harbours plans though ??

So I've never understood why BASF got involved with Harbour. The board had unanimously agreed to remove itself for the oil and Gas business but then got tied up in a complex deal with Harbour at a notional £3.60 share price.

So either BASF were sold a pup which I think is unlikely or the looked at the bigger picture and saw an opportunity to make more money over a longer time period.

What were they offered to be part of the deal?. What did they see that made the deal look so good and made them continue to stay in oil?

BASF made 7.8$ Billion EDITDA and 700 million free cash flow so they are no fools.

Its an interesting and intreiging story and they are clearly still keen to sell out as soon as.

The question is how and whats their exit Plan.

I have absolutely no idea but Harbour are the masters of the dark arts so anything could happen?

I’m pretty sure BP have signed an “all in” agreement for their Sins in America and if not they should be shot.

BP is still paying for the Gulf of Mexico oil spill, with payments stretching over 18 years for various settlements. The largest portion of the payments, $18.7 billion, covers civil penalties, natural resource damages, and economic/other claims. The settlement with the US government and five Gulf states was finalized in 2015 and is expected to run through 2033, according to BP's own financial statements

He has definitely changed things for ever if not a very very long time.

People will look to trde with people they can trust as the USA has proved to be a greedy and dangerous friend.

The question is have we taken all the pain and things going to settle down or will this result in a world wide recession.

He certainly didn’t expect this outcome…..

So what’s the upside in Elliot shorting Shell.

Surely he’s will be pushing for a BP sale to sell and is very confident of it coming or it’s a very very risky bet?

We talk about BP being taken over but what if BP became the hunter?

Enquist, Harbour, Tullow?

Lots of reserves in some of those…..

The results looked and sounded good as usual.

However I just thought I’d ask for thoughts on our debt. I think it’s 27$ Billion down from 27.48 a year earlier which at a time of us going great gun seems to little and to slow.

In 2019 our debt was under 10$ Billion to so your looking at a very long time to get back to this.

I know we are moving in the right direction and have investment grade is on the horizon but it just looks a long hard road.

Any thoughts please….

But we are on the right track and hopefully we will get Investment grade next year and hopefully 27-28 start the dividends back again.
