Argentina is fantastic and will be home to huge amount of our capitol. I’m more excited about that than Mexico.

I’m sure there is lots going on in the background re who will be Operatorship which I think will be jointly Harbour and Talos with Pemex giving this up a % of their share which benefits us.

Talos are largely owned by Slim so not shortage of funds there.

Now he’s the interesting one….

Slim could soon own nearly 10% of Harbour so will he be interested in BASF shares and going for almost majority ownership of Harbour.

Or will he completely take over Talos and just got for bigger % of Zama.

Or am I talking complete Xollicks as usual… You decide???

Tuna is one we don’t talk about much due to our partner being Russian and sanctioned. However it looks like things are cracking on at pace here. Here is some news from earlier this year and Harbour are also confirming things are moving..

“UK independent Harbour Energy has once again kick-started the tender for the floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel to exploit its Tuna gas and oil project offshore Indonesia, which has been waiting in the wings for several years.

Harbour has tried to get Tuna off the drawing board before, but one stumbling block has been the participation of Russia’s Zarubezhneft, an equal 50% partner, which has left the operator moving to line up one or more new co-venturers.

The Indonesian authorities in December 2022 approved the initial Plan of Development for Tuna but the operator's original timeline has since slipped following Western sanctions subsequently imposed on Russian companies in response to Moscow's invasion of Ukraine — Zarubezhneft is a 100% Russian state-owned firm.”

It’s a 100 million barrel field so worth going after if the deal is right….

I’ve got to be honest I thought Andaman was being kicked into the long grass but here’s what Harbour said last week

“Evaluating development options for the multi-TCF Andaman Sea gas play (Indonesia), including the potential accelerated development of the Tangkulo discovery”

The thing to remember here is that although we are currently not looking to spend on this project, our partner Mabadula Energy which is owned by Abu Dhabi government so they have plenty of funds. A deal could easily be sorted at little cost for us.

Add to that our brilliant Argentina assets and that fact that we are expecting Zama FID and Operator news shortly we are clearly in a good place.

Add to that the BASF shares authority which in my opinion is a master stroke by the board and things could get really exciting.

Also I expect a change in the windfall tax in the coming months. There is no point in having 78% of nothing…

So discussions are going on with Talos and Harbour to take over as operator of Zama. Looking like Zama will be looking to a free carry or some kind of capitol light deal…

The company attributed the loss to natural depletion at mature fields, combined with insufficient new well completions. The target of 1.8 million bpd in output by the end of 2025 remains. So our Chairman is also CEO of EIG who basically financed Harbour and owned Mostar one stage although much less now.

So Harbour seem to be playing a blinder getting the authority to buy BASFs share and for a change a very weak share price and low oil and Gas prices could play massively in Harbours favour. Then ofcourse as we know BASF are cash strapped and very keen to exit the oil and Gas markets.

Harbour are well sorted in the financial department with no payments until 2028 and have a big war chest of cash.

My other thought is the role Slim will play if any. He owns a chunk of Zama, a lot of Talos and 5% of Harbour.

He is currently leading the negotiations with Pemex about Zama and the plan is for Talos and Harbour to have joint operatorship and Zama is nearly 700 million barrels recoverable....

So if Harbour really is a bargain at this price Im sure he will be looking to increase his holding and what a great time to do it. Being one of the richest men in the world he could find the money pretty easily.

So the next month or so could be very very interesting.......One thing seems highly likely, one way or the other BASF will be saying goodbye to Harbour.

Hopefully the talks will conclude soon and the rumour re Harbour taking over as Operator prove to be true.

I can see Slim buying some of Pemex share or even buy out Talos share completely.

The issues for Harbour is they have committed to half a billion less expenses in 2026 and 2027.

No idea how this will pan out but I’m pretty sure Slim is the key to it……

I think Harbour will be pulling in their horns now for a few years (except Argentina) and get their debt paid down.

For me the major key is BASF and I cant wait to see how that plays out.....
