Was it a desire to get more votes from previous governments? I’ve not got the answer.

But bringing things back to basics, if you can wake up and hold a decent conversation, there are chances you can work.

And that’s where I also see your point Fordm.

At this moment, like any other point since the NHS introduction, we have those who are economically “takers” from the system, and we have those who “give” to the system.

Some “takers” need to be taking all they can to survive and any righteous person out there will not argue that point (as I said, I’m happy to pay more to keep such individuals alive in our society).

The problem occurs when different generations look at the same problem. I’m 50 now. I’ve seen a lot of hardship from others growing up that haven’t had the ability to claim, they just crack on with what they have. Date that experience to the generations preceding me and we then see an absolute legitimate desire of some to need that help but were told the same thing - crack on!

At this moment in time, I share ShareFlyers view that we may have been a little soft in recent history for those choosing the route of “not being well enough to work”. The spiral of that will continue into a very clear two tear system.

Although I’ll never vote Labour, I feel the movement to get as many to work as possible as being a very good thing.

As you may know, ShareFlyer don’t agree with anything. In fact, I consider him to be my Joker to my Batman (or vice versa of course) but he’s right on this in humble opinion.

Not sure if ShareFlyer would extend to my philosophy of giving most my tax to those in dire need, but we have a huge majority of those on benefits in this country that really don’t need to be.

We all know post COVID that people can now work from home. Today, along with many other days, I see claimants having the ability to share their dire situation with local and national news networks in terms of them not being able to work - what I see, is someone able to do work from home in some shape or form. Telesales, followup calls from companies, literally anything that allows them to work from home on a phone.

Those totally debilitated, hands up - have my money! I’ll happily pay more, but those suggesting they can’t pick up a phone and conduct some time of work, I have my doubts.

SP 500 currently down 7.1% under Trump (well, 9.3% if you include the fact he would be in a month before), and no sign of it restoring to a level, let alone progression.

Trumps idea of capitalism is very misconstrued. I'd call it narcissistic capitalism, along with Musk.

They are both on the far end of not caring a jot about the working man, and so they conclude an absolute hierarchy of 'where you should be being us' rather than give advice and help to those wishing to aspire.

Those who have are literally taking the p*ss out of those who haven't - and what's more, they're blaming them for it.

If it wasn't resulting in deaths via suicide and ill health, it might be funny.

To be clear Captain Svend, it’s any ownership over 15% (international or not).

The golden share in RR PLC is a little different.

It gives the current government an absolute vito over any legal or logistical input of any takeover/move from current listing.

Essentially, RR plc can’t do anything exterior to current trading without the government giving it a green light. 👍

Absolute basic terminology here:

Cannot happen.

The UK government hold a ‘golden share’ in the FTSE listed stock that prohibits any change in structure, unless agreed by the current government of the UK at any specific time.

If you’re suggesting the current UK government will agree a trade off with the US to allow RR to be delisted, then you’re a million miles away from the truth.

The UK will be very quiet from now, in terms of RR, but will indeed use it as a pocket poker hand along the way.

That includes disappearing to the US.

And a bit of humble knowledge here, I won’t name names but I got one email recently that I feel the need to share, if in anyway to restore a sense of humanity here. It got my heart then, and it does every time I frequent here.

I’ll paraphrase, but essentially I had the most amazing email from somebody who told me their mother had shares in RR from quite a few years back. Unfortunately she got ill and when it came to shares, she’d say “don’t sell until nettles says so!” or words to that effect.

Sadly, this lady past away and I got the most amazing email from her daughter to say thank you, as the money raised from the then sale of the RR shares paid for the funeral.

If that doesn’t alter your outlook on life, nothing will.

Simply the most humble I’ve ever felt in my life.

Maybe, just maybe, we understand what we all post here in future? Be kind all. It’s far easier than the alternative.

… moreover, the sites I use for MCap valuation update sporadically, and although the buyback is minute for RR compared to overall MCap, it’s not going to show true valuation until concluded.

But yes DonoLad, the buybacks have really messed with my maths of MCap (simply the most important state of any share). I’m trying to work out if they’ll get to the optimum buyback in the year (I think they’ll fall short) but it really doesn’t help with a justified MCap calculation at this time. 👍
