At let’s be honest to say the far right have done the same. The majority of those protesting against migrant hotels can do so daily as they don’t work - they suck the cash out of our hard earned taxes.

My apologies CWWX, but I did use the term ‘managed fund’ throughout so I hoped people new the difference in a managed fund and a SIPP you buy your own shares within ( SIPP based) - bit apologies for any adverse confusion.

Being the pedigree you are, im a little surprised at your take on decent (what I conservative) percentage increase though.

The SJP was a Polaris (4) fund as I never wanted to get into bonds - for the last few moments I was with them.

All that said, I’n honestly very happy you consider my SIPP increase to be above the norm. Although on point with my final goal, I often wondered if I wasn’t doing all I can to manage the funds most efficiently. 👍

Well, what we have isn't working - The desire to be correct is resulting in disgusting far right attitudes being agreed with and also far left Antifa arguments being justified in what was once a civil society. The forgetful nature of wars being won in the fight for peace is simply insulting on both sides.

What was once fought on a battle field is nothing less that You-Tube so called 'soldiers' thinking they make a difference when all they do is instigate hate and more indifference.

It's shameful to watch for someone of my generation (50 years of age), and as the government show no aptitude to close that gap, it's becoming more of an issue for those cogs amongst us to show how things are done.

There simply doesn't need to be the hate we see on our streets. We really can all get along if the boundaries are set.

And LWHL, I guess that’s my whole point. Simply don’t allow a plaster solving governing body to be any part of it.

We’d be totally legit in their governing powers, but the instigation and result will be a purely private investment result.

If they can’t do it, then people of this country should.

I’ve always thought about an idea of a ‘homeless’ hotel if I ever get to significant finds.

Privately owned, no income from government sources, but an actual home for British people on our streets. With that, there will be privately funded education and training so those who need to use such a hotel, they leave fully backed with all they need to be a contributor to society.

The government will never do such a thing. So it has to be a not-for-profit private enterprise.

The sooner the cogs take control of this awful self funding, vote winning empowered hypocritical government, the better.

Totally agree Badland. Being honest with tax (I also work for myself) has given me no benefits this far and I always suggest they may have their focus a little wrong, picking on people like me not profiting a huge amount, instead of those clearly taking the Michael (post Covid loans/grants etc).

When you lose faith in those who are meant to look out for the honest business man, it forces us not to vote (you and I agree on that), and just keep clean enough to enable those around us to benefit from the hard earned income.

It has always been that, and it always will be.

Vote winning tactics rather than trying to actually sort the economy out.

My SJP pension (not SIPP) was managed and did an average of 20% gains per year, again it was upper end of risk, and again far do much better - maybe you need to look around if you have a managed fund?

My ISA got me to the gains I decided to transfer the SJP pension to a Barclays (managed by AJ Bell) SIPP and rather than go the managed fund approach, I decided to pick my own shares, heavily on mining for the next five years.

Im more confused why this is breaking news to people - ask on here,any are doing far better than I am. 👍

288.5% in four years 10 months to be exact.

22.7% up since I stared my SIPP 4 weeks ago.

But is massively risky and could very easy go the other way.

I’d advise anyone with a weak heart to stay clear.

Most serious investors on here are a lot more.

Mine is now what is considered to be very high risk, so hedges won’t touch them, which is why I needed to do my own thing. 👍

My funds have done 280% in 5 years (which others on here will think is low, and they’d be correct).

That was part of a managed fund, now im free to invest in what I want, it should be a lot more.

10% tax free draw down is what I meant.

But in a SIPP or even a managed fund, 20% gain should be a very conservative goal.

10% per year that is.

This is possibly the most important topic to overhaul the current pension crisis. I to will have wait to 57 to start drawing on my private pension and in mumble opinion, more needs to be done to allow the majority of people to do this and the fire take pressure of the state pension.

25% tax free at drawdown is great, but I feels a continued 10% tax free thereafter will no doubt encourage more to do it. 👍
