UK Government hold a "golden share" of RR PLC.

In short this means "Articles of Association of the Company cannot be changed without the prior written consent of the special shareholder".

If RR PLC ever had a take over (hostile or not), the Government would have to put it to a vote, after or prior to RR PLC board doing so.

RR will never be privatised by a foreign entity unless the value was threefold of current SP - and even then, the government would block it.

Fair point - https://www.londonstockexchange.com/stock/RR./rolls-royce-holdings-plc/company-page is the only source that is accurate (albeit 15 minutes after close).

Google tend to use auction data (up top 15 minutes after close) to give a trajectory of after market but that is often cancelled out but the pre market of the next day.

That, to me, is the key for Thursday.

Analysis suggesting 1.4bln based on the prior year, but I’m yet to see AUKUS feature in this profit guidance.

If it is 1.4bln profit then it’s a 375p share end of play.

If, what I’m now hearing, includes AUKUS initial payments then this could be nearer to 2bln.

If it is, then end of play is looking like £4 sp

Hedges and pensions flood in (decent ones have not been able to invest thus far due to insurances to their holders).

An “investment” grade gets us far beyond your wildest dreams…. And mine!

According to the CFO and the recent CMD, “payment back to loyal shareholders is a priority”.

Unless that means a brown envelope through everyone’s door, my take is a dedicated timescale for Div reinstatement come the 22nd.

Gotta agree with this - to some extent......

Personally, I set a realistic goal (usually a few years down the line) of what I want to achieve, I make minute changes along the way to keep it 'on track' and then I'd sell when my goal is achieved..... IF the fundamentals didn't show something I hadn't factored in at the beginning of the process.

Hence my £7 goal in Feb 2025. If if get's there and after that point RR announce the reintroduction to the narrow body market and they've got 100% SMR contract (RR SMR Ltd), then I might be a bit of a fool to sell.

That said, taking profits along the way is a good way to minimise risks - to each their own I guess.
