I don’t have a problem with that rule, rather, the problem is the current revolving door of unelected entrants to the role.
Honestly, couldn’t make it up.
I wrote a manifesto for a new centrist unity party a couple of years ago - I don’t think I would be a good politician and don’t want the scrutiny - but how long do you sit quietly whilst this country is destroyed.
The U.K. is only now focussed on its differences - brexit v remain, Scotland v Westminster, immmigrant v citizen, protestor v worker.
We need imho two things
1. A return to dull politics - boring is good
2. A reunification on the overall U.K. - stop looking at the cracks and we might see a beautiful mosaic of different pieces that is breathtaking in its beauty and purpose.
If anyones intersted and has a spare few mins I will post my political ideas for the party - see if you like it? If you do might send to Rory Stewart - for last two years I think he has the credibility with high labour to be leader
