Correct my licence is no good outside the EU, that’s why every heat I get an IDP for those countries where I may wish to hire a vehicle, admit have not had one in 2020. Green card no problem, have had them in the past for leased cars, vehicle on hire certificate, my current insurers for my owned cars, have the relevant translation in the schedule and I can now download from them a 90 day green card and print it out, so no problem there. Have the V5s as well, but always needed to Cary them anyway. So all I need to do is print a green car when required, spend an extra few minutes at passport control then it’s off say South of France for a few weeks, oh and I have an Emovis tag for the French motorway network, through them tolls at 30kph no problem. But thanks for the advice on where to expect a border, or customs facility, but I don’t pass any of them in Kent until I reach the coast.

Ist at Ed earlier that the border in kent was at the coast, that places such as Sevington are facilities to aid the flow of traffic to the ports, not all vehicles will go to these locations many will go direct to the port, tunnel. It is only a facility for customs to help ease traffic flow. They were set up in case there was a, no deal, situation that would mean vast amounts of checking being done that if done in the port, would within a few hours stop all flow between Kent and France. Many of the customs checks now needed will not come into force for at least 6 months and may be extended, by which time many of the facilities may well no longer be deemed necessary as the new system may well work OK by then. We all remember your much beloved French friends have disrupted channel traffic flow, Fishermen blocking Calais port, lorry drivers strikes, border staff striking, result the whole of Kent became a lorry park and that was with no customs restrictions on most goods coming in.
But you know what, have it your own Trump way, at least he will no longer be able to bleat about voter fraud come Jan 21, where as you just don’t know when to stop or when you a incorrect.

It really is all about traffic flow, and nothing more. To get the Kent permit you need to have all relevant other paperwork in place before you can apply for one. Proof it’s all about traffic flow within Kent due to the high percentage of traffic to, from, the EU and nothing else no boarder.

You have got my dander up now. Yesterday you claimed that as of today a UK issued driving licence would be invalid in the EU unless supported by a IDP. I stated that you were wrong, several times, but no, you just kept coming back with the same statement, until in the end you realised your statement was false and used a Tweet from an MP to accept the fact I made was correct.
Now you are banging on about internal borders in Kent. There are on internal borders in Kent, just facilities for customs to use rather than blocking up roads and ports in the county. The facility at Sevington, is an extension of an existing lorry park for HGVs to stop at to or from the ports for a rest due to being out of time, or early for there crossing, or port delays due to whatever reason.
Manston is part of operation Brock, its runway is used to park lorries in the event of delays at the ports. Brock has defined routes along the M20-M2 directing port traffic to Manston or operation park your lorry on the M20 because Sevington is full. Please don’t tell me about the facilities, operations or borders in the county I live in and have to live with. THERE IS NO BORDER IN KENT OR AROUND IT. The reason for the Kent permit is to reduce the traffic in the county crossing the channel so that it only legally enters it within the 24 hour period that there booked crossing is in. If Kent had the spare land that Calais has around it to park HGVs in the permit would not be needed. It’s about traffic flow in a very congested county nothing more. And certainly not what you are trying to imply with your Trump like comments...

There is no border in Kent, except where land meets sea. You keep saying “ the border in Kent” a border is a line between to locations or areas and is defined by lines on a map or its equivalent. Anything inside, or outside that boundary line is a facility not a boundary. The facilities you referred to are for the reasons I have stated, to reduce traffic being held up at the actual border point at Dover docks or Eurotunnel Folkestone, Cheriton actually, not that that matters. The border for the county of Kent, for the purposes of this topic can be described as the M25 in respect of routes for fright to or from Dover or Folkestone. The facilities are within that boundary on main routes to the embarkation location. Please stop calling these facilities as borders of Kent they are not...

These facility’s have been around for several years in Kent, they are and have been, customs clearance facilities to enable any goods that require a customs declaration or HMRC involvement in there leaving the UK, to Cary out that work before reaching Dover or Folkestone to save time at the docks and freeing up staff at the docks for other work and reduce queuing within or outside the docks or Tunnel.
It’s an inland border FACILITY just the same as the facilities within the docks pleated remotely for the above reasons.
They are not a border but much like a customs clearance shed for imported goods to be collected from once clearance is completed they can be located outside of a docks or airport.

Which bit of that are you confused by, the site is the most up to date information and is EXACTLY what I have stated earlier. Unless you only hold a paper licence or it was not issued in the UK mainland, in which case you may need to carry an IDP relevant to the country’s you may wish to drive in...

It has been the case for many years in respect of a paper licence, I am unable to comment on a licence issued in the Channel Islands or Gib as mine is issued in the mainland as are around 40 million others I would suspect.
So a UK photo licence is valid going forward in the EU without the need for carrying an IDP as well.
As before if you are driving your own car you need to carry it’s V5. Same as it has always been.
So UK licence is still good.

You are missing the point, it will not matter how many take up 5g, it will require new infrastructure to the masts to carry the bandwidth needed, and that infrastructure will also carry any legacy traffic and in time people will migrate onto 5g as that will be the standard for any new device.
