Well selling increased a bit today right from the get-go, albeit there are some misreported trades on the list

The complete absence of FOMO is worrying given SAR's ability to drift. I agree they cant manafacture good news, but all we get is endless radio silence

Well hopefully yesterday counts as a confirmed retest of the 189p support that looks important on my chart

Not sure why the rise today? Perhaps FOMO pre-results or perhaps the market is celebrating this board sussing out the correct tax treatment of reinvested dividends? :)

Unfortunately results day is very capable of blowing chart theory out of the water, so still need to keep everything crossed!

....to assume people are going to sit on their hands in the absence of news each day. There appears to be zero FOMO currently, so I really hope the share price isnt just going to be allowed to drift lower and lower

Your online financial adviser is defo wide of the mark. Think about it....if everyone took their divis in shares and didnt have to pay tax on them (after allowances), everyone would do it, and the treasury tax take would crater.....

Perhaps he is getting ordinary share accounts mixed up with ISAs and SIPPs?

Incorrect I think. The dividend is taxed as income, but for CGT you must increase the base cost of your pool of shares by the dividend amount. That avoids the double taxation you mentioned.

The dividends are treated as income even if they are directly used to purchase shares.All they are doing is cutting out the middle man - ie paying you the dividend, then you buying the shares.

The dividend is treated as your overall income but is subject to your personal allowance, and dividend allowance (which has been cut to the bone in recent years).

Dividends received in SIPPs and ISAs are tax free

Without knowing the specifics its hard to tell, Theres a 5k buy at 17.139p at 2pm on the ADVFN trades list, so perhaps this websites data feed is a bit off?

Actual current spread is 16.55 - 17.0 Someone kindly dumped 100k this afternoon, but strangely it didnt affect the bid price actually being offered

Dont rise when the price of Brent gets to $72, but do drop when Brent falls below $71

I just hope that next week we dont fall back into the old habit of awful performance on results day

Get the feeling that the market in SAR is pretty tight on the buy side atm

Slightest bit of buying is seeing the effective bid rise noticeably. Hopefully the bored holders can sit on their hands and not jump ship for a while. We might then see the price start to round

Unfortunately I dont agree. I think just like last time, the daily buying you mention, will just allow some of the instis to sell gradually without cratering the price. I think a buyback will just put the share price into sideways mode for months on end

Left for meetings at 10am with HBR up 3p odd. Just returned to see this abysmal turn round with Brent over $72. Are we being played or what?

Aye theres been some UT trades at the close of business in recent weeks, but this looked unusual as all three were during normal trading hours, and all at the top of the hour

Well the next set of KPIs need to be decent, and management bullish because 3p is starting to once again drift further away in our (magma) rear view mirror.

There just isnt any sustained interest in SEE and wont be until management prove they arent full of bs

Bailiff - unusually for SAR there was a UT trade. 10k @ 18.90. Thats what distorted the closing numbers
