RE: DWP or ALRT? 😄16 Jun 2026 09:17
ALRT
That's the bit I think is being overlooked.
ALRT doesn't need a £60bn increase in defence spending to succeed. A company with a market cap of around £40m only needs a very small slice of the existing MOD budget to move the needle commercially.
The real question isn't whether the MOD will spend money. It's where that money gets spent, and whether ALRT can position itself to win a share of it.
That's why I'm finding it increasingly difficult to top-slice here.
Remember: buy low, sit tight and don't get spiked.
For what it's worth, and purely IMHO, I think we're around the lows now.
I'm generally a top-slicer, but I feel uneasy doing it on this share because of the potential for a major re-rate on positive news. In the current environment, that news could drop at any time.
We've had the Oracle partnership, the Accelerator Programme gaining momentum, the MOD transparency notice and an increasing political focus on sovereign AI, defence technology and faster procurement.
None of this guarantees success, but it does mean there are several potential catalysts in play.
Markets have a habit of repricing quickly when sentiment changes. If that happens, getting back in can be considerably more expensive than getting out.
Just my view.
