RE: Decades of under investment helps us massively !16 Jun 2026 14:14
GaryFL - great post and very informative. However, we have to remember that Lord Houghton is a retired Field Marshal. He retired from military service in July 2016, so I certainly wouldn't have invested in ALRT solely on the back of his appointment.
Personally, I see him as being there more in a strategic and PR capacity than an operational one. His experience, contacts and credibility undoubtedly add value, but he isn't the person running the day-to-day business.
For me, the investment case rests more on the operational team, the technology, the partnerships and ultimately the company's ability to convert opportunities into contracts.
CEO Andrew Roughan brings experience from leading innovation and technology ecosystems, including his time at Plexal, working closely with government, defence and emerging technology companies.
CTO Andy McCartney brings deep technical expertise, having held senior technology and AI leadership roles, including at Microsoft.
Add to that the strategic relationships being built through Oracle, the Accelerator Programme and the company's defence-focused network, and you have a team with a broad mix of commercial, technical and defence experience.
Ultimately, though, credentials only get you so far. Contracts, revenues and execution are what will determine success.
GLA and DYOR.
