Where do we see cadmium QD’s being used in display? Very few products. Samsung exclusively Cad free, with their proprietary process at Hansol. QD display hasn’t ramped up until now because I believe that the demand for 4K HDR display is only just starting. Earlier on little to no broadcasting in these formats, so little point in having the goods. OLED has the bonus of high contrast with pixel level dimming, a good selling point regardless of resolution and colour. Also cad free dots have lagged cadmium dots in performance, not to mention cost. Both factors have narrowed significantly, plus legislation tightened in the use of cadmium in display.

As I recall, and I've been invested here since early 2016, Samsung and LG were already out of the game, although some hints at Samsung still being interested, so who were Dow sampling with. Surely they'd tout for business with other OEM's? Is Dow a complete write off now. I guess they can afford to drop QD's, big deal to a small company like Nanoco but small beer for them. Situation with Merck and Wah Hong seem's clear, it's Dow that's murky.

With regard to the comments about Dow sampling and commercial supply, listen to what he says. We would 'expect' sales to begin after sampling. Clearly they did not, otherwise we'd be getting nice fat cheques from Dow. So the Dow partnership has been disappointing, for reasons that remain opaque- perhaps they charge too much, perhaps the companies don't like the product and prefer the cadmium alternative? Who knows? Well Dow and probably Nanoco senior management do, but they're not telling investors. The Wah Hong contract seems to have been far more furitful, with displays on show from AUO about 14 months after first inking that contract, although Eskers research with Acer (or was it Asus?) threw things into doubt about what dots appear in the first of the commercial AUO QD screens. ME's recent sale of a substantial amount of his share holding has thrown more fat on the fire IMO. Clearly some are spooked. Personally I'm not entirely sure a blog post or two on current partnerships and how things are progressing would go amiss.

Well there is AUO, third largest panel maker in the world. Okay so we haven't confirmation they're our dots in the new games monitors from Asus and Acer, but the only other company in the game is Nanosys, and they're not claiming credit either. They seem keen to talk about Vizio and Samsung, so if the AUO panels were theirs, I'd have thought they'd be piping up about that too. So that would be two monitors, not much,. but a start, then we have the 8k screen coming out soon, plus the BFGD screens, and a lot shedload of other WCG displays in development from AUO, which look to be QD based. Many other OEM's listed as being in development, but whether they become products, who can tell. This is still a very embryonic industry, with the possibility of large gains if it makes it, but also the possibility of large losses if it doesn't..

I understand and share some of the frustrations felt by investors in this company. There have been many false dawns, some of whom may be down to decisions made within the walls of Nanoco, but we haven’t all the information to hand, so can only make guesses. Clearly som sort of contracts were made with companies like LG and Samsung, but for reasons best known to them, they decided not to go ahead and pursue alternative avenues.clearly the delay in bannin cadmium from display has mad cad free tech far less attractive to OEM’s, and Nanoco have been guilty of overestimating demand in the past, which they have acknowledged in more recent updates. It does finally seem we’re moving in the right direction, Perhaps QD tech will take off exponentially, or be a more linear process, imspite of analyst predictions there is still a great deal of uncertainty, and predictions by one or two on here of Nanoco being a derisked investment are I think a tad premature. Not sure how much revenue will be reported for the FY, probably most againa, as he AUO monitors-assuming they use our dots- have arrived later than expected, and reviews seem to be a bit mixed, so sales volumes may exceed expectations or disappoint. Other screens are yet to appear.

Always double the estimated time of delivery, if they come in under it's a nice bonus. For example look at the delays in the Asus and Acer monitors.

What other QD gaming monitors have been slated to be released in the first three quarters of 2018? The BFGD monitors aren't due for release until end of 2018 at the earliest. They even had one of the monitors in the background on Keith Wiggins interview at CES.

This is what ME said earlier this year in regard to display- So, what we see is that commercial products we’re now shipping and we expect to see product in the market with our quantum dots in quarter 2 of this year. So, mass production is ramping up now so it’s an exciting and busy time for Nanoco.

I agree that specific products haven't been stated, however there has been mention of monitors coming out Q2 etc. What other products have there been? Plus they've stated to be working with AUO, and the Acer and Asus monitors use AUO panels. If these monitors turn out to be a using a competitors dots, then what monitors will be using ours.

It's been stated more than once over the past few months that the first display products with Nanoco's CFQD's will be monitors for gaming.

I maintain that someone has got their wires crossed. we will find out soon enough one way or the other.

As I understand it there are some differences in the performance of cadmium and cad free dots, so to my thinking it doesn't make commercial sense to develop for one film in order to buy some in at a discount, then spend a chunk of time tweaking things for cad free. Companies do put out some BS at the best of times- e.g. I recall a representative for TCL spouting off on youtube about developing their own QD's.

Why would AUO pitch its high end displays at a major show with CFQD film, then go for cadmium film in the product. Doesn't make any sense.

Lo volume day, although some larger buys towards the last half helping nudge the price up a bit. I guess everyone is keeping their powder dry, watching and waiting.

Reading through the articles, it appears to me that what AUO have is improved FALD screens (+1000 zones) , and they also have some microLED technology on display in early prototype form.

I wonder how long it will be before large screen microLED screens are commercialised on any significant scale? Manufacturers are often happy to spin away in an effort to bag a PR advantage over rivals and grab headlines. The manufacturing problems for microLED are still significant, and I really can't see LCD being taken over for at least another decade, maybe two, as the major method of display, albeit with enhancement from QD's etc.

The first display products are the games monitors from Asus and Acer. they've been late in arriving owing to production difficulties. The manufacturers haven't specified what those difficulties are/were, but it seems to have been rectified and they are now finally materializing from the start of June, when they were originally supposed to come out towards the end of March, or early April ate the latest.
