Let’s just calmly wait and see. Remember everyone got excited about the release of the 27” monitors, then they were delayed, when they eventually appeared they weren’t our dots!

The new ray tracing graphics cards announced by nvidia yesterday should help drive growth in HDR monitors and TV's. They're more than fast enough for 4K HD, and give stunning visuals, with much greater subtlety than previous graphics cards, and gamers and graphic artists will need the best screens to see that.

There maybe some more details in the full update in October. meanwhile we could see additional releases in the next few months. That is speculative, but not unrealistic. it will be interesting to see what manufacturers exhibit at Touch Taiwan this year, that proved to give the most valuable insight as to what was/is coming down the pipe.

IIRC, Nanoco received substantial payments from Dow, however that hasn't been followed up by substantial royalties from product.

So for the time being I will be cautiously optimistic on revenue from sensors, and will still be looking or the revenue from display, as I don't believe that any revenue from sensors will be sufficient within the time Nanoco has to commercialize to prevent another cash call, unless display and lighting revenue ramps very quickly.

based on their projected profit per display, they would need to move around a million displays to break even. As that's less than half a percent of annual LCD display production, that should be possible if the tech has got a market.

I agree that sensors will become very significant, but it will take time to find their way into products. I don’t agree that the milestone payments are a reliable source of income, and I think with recent share price movements reflect that sentiment. I think display remains the primary source of income for the foreseeable future, and Nanoco need to demonstrate they can cut it in that arena to justify all the past hyperbole.

Income will have to increase tenfold just to cover present running costs. I’m excluding milestones in that estimate, because they’re one off payments. Costs are also likely to increase with the expansion up and running, or will operational expenses also be absorbed by our cash rich partner? I think Nano have another year to get stuff into the market, if they can’t break even by then, I think we’ll be back to a cash call.

Cadmium dots have been around for a while now, but they haven't really caught on much have they? A few companies have dabbled with the odd model of TV here and there Amazon did a tablet, someone else a laptop.

The main supplier of QD screens has been Samsung, and they're cad free. I think QD in display has been held back by a lack of demand in the industry- whilst companies can continue flogging conventional LCD, why bother with QD's. The HDR content is thin on the ground- it's tricky to create for broadcasters, but it is gaining ground, and QD's will become a more important factor.

Gaming is another kettle of fish, so perhaps that's why the focus is on that first and foremost, with TV's following on.

Whichever way it goes, I don't believe that big companies will want to entertain the use of cadmium dots.

The BFGD were originally slated for Q2.

So the next things to look for are What's on display at Touch Taiwan, which is just under a fortnight away.

Then we can keep a beady eye out for release dates of the three bfgd monitors- Asus ROG Swift PG65, Acer Predator BFGD and HP Omen X 65.

The lions share of that money is via the milestone payments for the US deal, so not recurring business, and as we don’t yet know anymore detail on that arrangement, it’s not possible to predict future income from it. If we’d seen 3m plus the 2.5m milestone payments, I think that would have been far more encouraging.

Looks like someone made a big buy of over 1.5m shares yesterday, but up on the board today.
