Held shares for a lover three years. Current share price reflects the precarious position they’re in with regards to future funding.

Direction? Your guess would be as good as mine. With the loss of the Apple contract, much now hinges on display revenue. No evidence suggests wide commercialisation to date.

What will change the share price? Well for it to increase, some lucrative deals- money coming in.

Buyout, by whom? One of the partners, a large OEM. Possibly, not sure what the offer would be though. Would sooner see the company move to successful commercialisation.

With regards to management and strategy, whilst I'm not a huge fan of the CEO I'm not quite sure what he or anyone else could do to shift the product beyond what they've already done. It appears that whilst cad based tech remains legal to use in display, companies, aside from Samsung favour it. That may be changing, but we still have no evidence to support that. Beyond display, the target markets remain small at present- this may well change in the future, but with cash running low, time is not on our side

Been on a downwards direction since the end of June. Short term traders who got in on 6-9p have probably cashed in their gains, and we're now left with LTH's hoping for a recovery and those who bought in on double figures looking for gains into the twenties. That will take clarity from the company- not something they have great past form at.

Short term fluctuations are largely irrelevant except to traders looking to make a quick profit and get out.

LOAM's holding is no greater than it has been or a significant period of time now. Every now and then they adjust the percentage up or down by two or three percent, but tend to remain in the late teens to early twenty percent. If they move towards thirty percent, that clearly changes things

I guess display has failed to materialize owing to the ready availability of cadmium based dots, which are cheaper and perform slightly better- what would be the incentive to pay more for a product that doesn't work quite as effectively? I guess OEM's like to spout off about being environmentally conscientious, but in reality they're far more concerned with making profit and will only shift strategy if it makes them more money, or they're forced to do so in order to continue production.

I'm pretty sure that if the cadmium ban comes into full effect from October, we'll start to see displays with our dots in them. If it doesn't then I'm not quite sure when, or if we ever will.

They have done this in the past, but really only to show what is possible. Nanoco's expertise is making dots, not putting them onto film, coating glass etc. etc. That's what other companies like Wah Hong are good at- every man to his trade as the old saying goes.

Nanosys say they have facilities to produce what 25 tons per annum isn't it- that's a lot of dots, and enough to supply over 6 million screens. Then add on what Hansol/Samsung can yield plus the Chinese producers- Nanoco have tough sell to the display market whilst the Rohs exemption is in effect.

That may apply to one or two of the directors, but not the others, like Brian tenner and Alison Fielding who haven't sold their stakes and have merely taken the opportunity to reduce their average like most investors.

Depending on your own point of view Nanoco is a potential bargain growth stock, or a risky company that is drinking in the last chance saloon following the loss of the Apple contract. A single positive RNS could turn things around e.g. displays now on market etc. Or we could get static between now and end of year update, then news of a possible cash call.

They had more cash back then and also expected dates for first commercial display, which still hasn't materialized.

So no products yet and years at most before run out of cash unless they pull something out of the hat pretty soon.

I expect Loam slicing a bit off yesterday has a lot to do with the cooling off, plus profit taking for those in since Friday.

30% for a takeover, and the offer price would need to be over a pound at present, as the offer price has to be twice the highest share value within the last 12 months.

Possibly they’ll use Nanoco’s tech in other products, but they’ve proven to be unreliable and likely to pull the plug at the eleventh hour, so we need revenue from at least I reckon three major parties for reasonable stability going forwards. That way if one drops out, the share price may drop a bit but won’t crash into the buffers.

My average is higher still, and I expect the great majority of investors in this company are in the same boat after last Fridays bombshell, unless their stake was small and they were able to average down in the first couple of days, or they’re extremely flush. We need to see some display products on the shelves with our dots in them, I said that many months back when everyone was getting excited about the US deal. Diverse revenue streams are the key to protecting the company from being s hostage to fortune. The development is diverse but the revenue side of the business is far too narrow.

Big old chunk he sliced off though. Doubtful they’re buying them back st present though, as that would report as an RNS. Probably wait to fill their boots on a cash call, which may or may not happen depending on your point of view.

Good analysis BC. Quite a few on here and ADVFN pumping this up as much as they can, I think any gains will be short lived, unless we get a miraculous RNS.

Agreed that not all nano particles are QD’s, but in this case I believe that’s what they were.
