Just one thing though, the divi policy needs looking at - paying approx 1/5th and 4/5th needs to be rebalanced a bit.

BDEV will be building homes for the foreseeable future and nothing has changed - in fact - after todays budget, the stamp duty removal on houses up to 300k will MORE than offset an interest rate rise of 0.25%. I hold BDEV and will continue to hold for the dividends. (Ditto Taylor Wimp but not CRST as I think they are too "London Centric")

Perhaps the budget. Increases in minimum wage.?

The latest the next general election could be is may 2022. A lot can happen in the next 5 years. Jeremy might have been usurped or retired...who know?

Apparently good trading update and the sp gets a kicking. Maybe they should have issued a doom and gloom update, the price would go up no doubt in this crazy market!

Down 1.7% - day to day noise on very low trading volumes. It will bobble up and down until we get a trading update. Charting ? might as well get the chicken bones out - It's the numbers that count.

LordAdam...you summarise my thoughts entirely, SSE is/was a stalwart of a High Yield Portfolio. Divesting of the unwanted portion of the business is good for " new" SSE but you automatically get the unwanted and unloved love child of "mergeco"! Mergeco would possibly loss making so what value would it be and would mergeco then pay a Divi? The current board of directors will benefit but then there will be another bunch required to manage mergeco. I feel this has further to fall based on the numbers

When you look at how many EfW projects IRV completed, I find it difficult to understand how they do not know the completion costs for the final installation? If Glasgow was their one and only installation then there would be some mitigation but they've taken on other jobs including work for Viridor. http://www.londonstockexchange.com/exchange/news/market-news/market-news-detail/IRV/13401639.html This lack of clarity is crucifying IRV and it really is damning of their programme management skills and competencies. It always makes me shake my head when you look at their claims that they have 80,000 employees. From a company with a mkt cap of just over 100 million GBP. Doesn't that strike you as " doubtful"?

Need to be careful - after the share price drop CTEC is in the FTSE100 danger zone ( position 100). If relegated, the SP will fall further because the tracker funds will automatically sell... triggering a further SP fall. There is a degree of danger here!

Same as last week. Until positive RNS updates showing progress is being made then the only real driver of the share price is " emotion". Private investors have a small effect on the share price...unless there are several together each buying several million shares which might force the price up by a few (10%?) percent. It's going to bobble til the next update. Has IRV been oversold... undoubtedly. The new CEO has set her bonus scheme at a low point....the last update really kitchen sinked it! If it was that bad why did she take on the job and why did she let hubby buy 60 odd thousand shares? My belief...we will see updates showing a gradual improvement in the business....nice and steady over the next 3 years or so. It will take that length of time. The next update will also probably be one where IRV come looking for your money via a rights issue. Is IRV too big to fail? No, of course not! But it does seem to have some government support and has been awarded some "timely" new contracts. Investment in IRV is now a long game.
