Over on the PFC board I looked at the relationship between shorting levels and share price over the last 5 years and I came to the conclusion that there was no strong relationship.
As a shareholder in IRV ( and Carillion !) I don't see any weakening in ,say, Kier as a result.
IRV needs to sort out the last EFW installation ASAP and move on.
Sometimes I feel that the shorters have a certain pot of money that they must spread around. Hence you get 5 of them shorting at 0.51% ( look at the headlines when Tesco was shorted at 3.5% over Christmas...you'd think Tesco were going bust!).
Question...if hedge fund shorters are so all seeing, all knowing...why did they have no position in Provident Financial or Interserve BEFOREHAND?
Shorters rely on sentiment!
