There was some insignificant shorting ...in 2015 ! Here's a link to " short tracker" which derives the data from the FCA. Note, only short levels above 0.5% ( per hedge fund manager) is reported. Looking at the finances behind Av. One can see why there are no current visible (over 0.5%) shorting.

We need to keep an eye on the new CEO regarding his plans for growth ( hopefully a positive on the share price) and the development of the dividend. Whilst no dividend/company is ever 100% safe, Aviva surely must be up there with the safest.

Once again a new CEO has tanked the share price so that they can baseline their long term incentive bonus plan.

Ms White took home £1.26m for the year, including £656,500 in basic salary, a £404,420 bonus, £77,136 for accommodation and travel and £98,475 for pension contributions. Mr Whiteling received £735,849, thanks to a £251,991 bonus on top of his £409,050 basic salary.

So, I assume "rigorous criteria" includes letting the company go into administration?

Sorry Bazzer but the divi will be culled after the next Final. I've pencilled in a total of 6p a year going forward.

Dividend ? less than 3% and it might be suspended to pay for possible fines as the current balance sheet is stretched.
Share price - has fallen from £80 so there's no capital gain
Products - overpriced - buy equally good stuff (supermarket own)

The type of people going on a cruise are generally fairly financially comfortable....i.e., retired on old final salary pensions , state pensions and savings, no mortgage and kids gone. Brexit will come and go for them and they won't notice/ bother. The SAGA cruise offerings are better "class/quality " than Carnivals (CCL) - my wifes friend works in ENTS on both so she knows SAGA v CCL cruise offerings.

The dividend cover is 3.9 which is quite phenomenal for a FTSE100 dividend paying company ( source digital look website). The downside to IAG is the 19% Spanish withholding tax which reduces the divi by 19%...it is partly reclaimable but good luck with that one!

IAG is totally undervalued based in free cash flow calcs.

I do hold IAG shares but not a significant amount.

Tui are making sure they dont upset their customers by making sure they can deliver on their holidays.

But this should be recoverable from Boeing! TUI are over egging it but eventually Boeing will be deemed responsible .
