The experts or so-called experts know that no dent will be made in the global CO2 footprint. The increasing population growth will outstrip any possible gains in playing about with turbines and solar power, you cannot omit one half of the equation, and come to the correct answer.Take the 100-year model, 100 years ago the world's population was 1 billion today it is just short of 8 billion the use of energy increases exponentially as the population grows. If the world population was still 1 billion would we be having this discussion?India with a population of 1.3 billion more than the world's total population 100years ago, there are around 22 cars per thousand people in India, which will increase dramatically as the population becomes more affluent, they will desire what we have. They will want motorways, air travel, new homes plus air conditioning, large screen TVs you name it they will want it. India is now the third largest polluter of C02 imagine the output in the near future. Take the developing countries into account, what tonnage all materials will be required in the now and future to just give each family in a newly developed country, that which we have. We talk of electric cars and batteries as if they just apply to the West and the materials that are used in their manufacture are just at the end of the road. They will find it difficult to supply even the West with the materials to provide US with electric cars if we all had one. And proponents of the so-called zero ommissions theory, never mention the destruction to the planet that their dreams will cause. The amount of destruction will outstrip anything seen today. A world population of nearly 8 billion now and forecast to rise, what number of houses, cars, aircraft washing machines etc to satisfy the future needs of the world's population? And I will not bring mention the future water wars, they are coming soon.
