I am still finding it hard to get my head around why GGP would accept a buyout of Havieron. At some stage there would be a MRE and the size and potential value of the site will be agreed by both parties.

Let's say for argument's sake the value of the gold and other minerals is 50m oz. GGP will receive 25% of this as it is produced over a number of years. It's like an agents 'commission'. What incentive would they have to accept a payment much smaller than that (or there would be no point in NMC offering it) just to get a wad of cash now? Would GGP be that desperate to get it?

Haha...indeed Lifesagame. Very exciting and lucrative times. Three weeks ago I was in the depths of despair. Everything going down by thousands. I then took a deep breath, took the hit on those shares you are never supposed to sell, bought more GGP.....the rest is history :)

My sipp is also wih AJBell and I want to take some of the ggp shares and transfer them into this year's isa.

Has anyone tried this version of bed and breakfasting? I have yet to take out of my pension pot but my other half has with aj bell and had to fill in a massive of form ref whether she had received fnancial advice de dah de dah. I don't fancy the delay that might bring. I want to do it before the end of the month for sure.

Tom..it seems only a few short weeks ago that people were really worried about buying shares for more than 3p (myself included). Now we are scoffing at 11p as a cheeky and audacious amount!

But thing have changed, or at least our interpretation of some extra raw data, rumour and in some cases, wild extrapolation of this 'collection' of building blocks.

We can only guess what size the monsters that lurks underground at Havieron and Scally have become in our new folklore. Some people have most of the true information, most of us only some of it.

I am going to guess a figure of 40p per share for GGP. That's an average of all the figures that have been bandied about. It would take into account what is known to both NMC and GGP.

HOWEVER, I still say it wont happen. GGP will resist all such approaches and build a a much bigger empire.

Thank you for your explanation strudel. Also reminds me of a jewellery repair shop owner I know who scrupulously brushes every surface clean at the end of the business day. The gold flecks in the dust make up a significant bonus to his earnings!

I have been wondering how the drill sampling is done. I imagine it to be a bit like the drills they conduct in glacier regions, where a pipe is retrieved and climatologists can figure out what the climate was like 10,000 years ago from a one metre section of ice.

Can anyone enlighten me? Just curious.
