Cruzcampo is definitely the most popular beer in Andulacia. However, i preferred Mahon which is a little smoother. Here in Portugal, Sagres is king which is ok I guess, but I prefer the Sagres 'black beer' which tastes a little like bottled guiness.

I found the article but can't copy and paste it using this phone. There was a nice bit about the cost of extraction v the amount of gold per ton which essentially re-iterated the reason for the excitement here. Also mention of the Newcrest interest.

I'm not convinced about the takeover possibility being dicussed. The focus is surely to fulfll the farm in as agreed and get on wih the job. This in the face of world difficulties in getting literally anything done!

I think they will all just knuckle down and do what has been agreed.

The third option there is one I hadn't considered. The drilling along the outer edge may simply be to find the best access point. GH didn't mention anything alluding to this on his reply to Paddy though.

I read it on the bbc more like a threat than a definite. It followed a few days of dunder-head ignorance on social distancing. E.g a load of people crowding onto the beaches.

I once asked a farm worker how he coped being stuck in a tractor all day and he replied that it wasn't too bad, what with a tv and air conditioning in the cab!

I'm therefore assuming that the guys down under have got a little better working environment in those temperatures compared to Robert Mitchum and a pair of sheep shears.

With all due respect to posters, surely the discussion around the coronavirus is of crucial importance to the knowledge-base for this and every other share out there!

To ignore it would be akin to counting your coins while a tidal wave is approaching.

This share is very possibly being held back because of uncertainty surrounding the virus. Workers, I presume, work shifts on site and in some way or another come in contact with people who might themselves be carriers. Instantly, drilling could grind to a halt on site.

Indeed, I would go to say that the outbreak is the single most influential factor affecting investor confidence and their willingness to risk funds here. Why else would it be so 'undervalued'.

craiggeorge...many AIM listed shares have only a few Market Makers setting the prices for buying and selling. As a result they can dictate the 'spread' between the two and, for example, just just one transaction can affect the SP of these shares. I believe that is what i happening to GGP today.

Contrast this with a large FTSE 100 share where there are more Market Makers and hence more competition. The spread between bu and sell is tighter and price movements are less extreme.

You may see reference to 'ramping' and 'de-ramping' on the boards. That usually occurs when posters are perceived by others as trying to influence investors (and therefore the share price) by being overly positive or negative. It can lead to some heated discussion!!

Not sure if any board members are familiar with this rather doom-laden film, where the last survivors of a nuclear war are seeing out their days in Australia before the radiation cloud hit the continent, but it feels a bit like that on this campsite.

Shares down...just one remaining to save the day. The owner telling tales of his native South Africa and how apallingly dangerous it is there for everyday folk. Several glasses of brandy into his stories make me feel happier I'm invested in GGP than 'another' gold miner but another voice inside asks whether we will ever leave this place anyway, miles from anywhere, while the rest of the world deals with a killer virus and we just sit around and bide our time.

I'm not sure I am eloquent enough to describe how weird it is to be watching the stock market absorb world angst while being a virtual prisoner in a foreign land and unable to do a damn thing about it!

I was chatting to the owner of the campsite here and explaining how much my pension had been destroyed over the last few weeks about from one share.

"Gold?", he interrupted.

I said he was in the right area but not quite. I asked him to imagine he had ten tons of gold under his feet. He knew it was there but didnt have the equipment to dig it out. His mate has the equipment but needs some extra cash to get the job done. Not having quite enough themselves they have asked people in the community, who are suffering from a bad harvest if they would like to chip in to get a share of the future riches. These people are torn between feeding their families and investing in something that will give them wealth in several years time. The battle between the two motivations is just about keeping the pot boiling. Some are taking their investment out and others stepping in. All the while the gold is still there and the digging will comence soon.
