Haha. Very good Groovejet. Actually , I am terribly pedantic about grammar. There might be a film on TV, that I am not really watching, and some character might say, "So when would be the best time to try and rob the bank?" Without looking up I will say, "try to" and carry on reading.
It's like a mini-campaign and a solo storming of Capitol Hill. If I had said 'try and' at school, the English teacher would have (not of) gone bonkers. The only time you could use 'try and' (which means the attempt has a forgone conclusion of success) might be perhaps, 'Biden is going to try and get some extra votes shipped in to win the election'. :)
