I have my own system for creating a positive feeling. Just using the school ruler technique against the 12 month rise for the share, we ought to be on around 29p if the pattern continued on that trajectory. In 12 months my ruler shows 60p

What has created this trajectory? I believe excited chatter amongst the unwashed, combined with the risk assessment of the business based upon several sensible factors, not the least of which is the continuous and excellent drilling results at Havieron. The peaks and troughs follow short term fashion but the show rolls on relentlessly.

As Mr B pointed out, having taken the risk to move in at these lower levels, why give that up? I have this horrific image, set in an alternative universe, of the shareless, anti-matter me banging his head against a wall in a year's time and screaming "Why? Why? Why??"

Thank you Token and it makes for an interesting discussion. If, as it seems. there is no mechanism for market makers to borrow shares from brokers, how do they meet the demands of a massive order if they simply do not have the shares available (e.g the first GDXJ entry)?

I rather liked that little video. It explains, quite succinctly, the position the company is in and the route to the successful enterprise we all hope will materialise. No messing, no hype, just some pertinent facts. Nice find Hopefully!

I have done the same to be honest, even though this minor piece of research seems to indicate shares are not lent out as a rule.

'Trust no-one' has always been my motto so better to be safe than sorry!

So far we have:

Hargreaves Lansdown - do not loan out shares
T121- DO loan out shares (for a small fee but we would expect that)
Halifax- would not respond on a public forum (tweet)
AJ Bell - finally confirmed in writing that they do not loan out shares
Interactive Investor - do not loan out shares
Close Brothers - do not loan out shares
Jarvis Investment Management Ltd - do not loan out shares

Any others? (Although, from this small sample, it is beginning to look like the supposition that market maker borrow shares held by brokers, is beginning to look like an urban myth perhaps).

This is usually the cue for someone to jump in and say, "I don't know why people are so concerned about daily price movement. l, of course, only check the share price once a decade in between writing several symphonies and ten best selling books on finance."

One of the weirdest things occurred one morning when staying near Christchurch in 2012,(tragically hit by two earthquakes in 2010 and 2011), I was having a lie in and was wondering why the hell my ex was wiggling her foot nervously against the foot of the bed and making it wobble, thus annoyingly waking me up. I went to NZ with family for three months. I found it a truly delightful place with wonderful, friendly people. About half the population is centred around the Auckland conurbation, leaving around 2 million people living in a country about the same size as the UK. Cost of living wise it was about the same as the UK, all things considered. That was about ten years ago.

I wasn't really interested in gold back then so I had no idea that there was a gold rush around the Otago region in the 1860's. Apparently you can still see the broken down huts and old machinery there. Fascinating stuff.

Hi SaS, No, the second one fell through through licencing issues again and now that the share needs a bit of catchup, I'm putting that idea on the back burner. A lot of people add stuff to their houses here and worry about telling the authorities later! Duh..ok until you want to sell the house!

Annoyingly, I was going to sell a third of my shares in late December to put to one side for the eventual purchase and let the rest float. I wish I had now! I could have bought back in for a massive discount AND bought the house! Oh well.

I have gone back to the old thinking: I believe this share has more legs to it than the property market here, or in the UK for that matter. Time to leave it alone again.

Didn't you just get the feeling towards the end of the interview that Pierre was painting a picture of the industry awaiting the 'big one' and that that is right here?

Hi minicheddar, welcome to the board. Since I actually bought in my second modest amount at the price point you mentioned, I feel qualified to answer! For me it was a combination of luck, blind luck, getting a cross-ramp of the share elsewhere and then a devil-may-care attitude that saw me chuck everything I had at it. My research was appalling and I did everything the more learned shareholders say not to do, which was to read the bulletin board and make decisions based on the opinions of others.

So no real skill, other than perhaps to take in what the more experienced investors have had to say and the continuity. Since the early days of course, my understanding of the geology has increased as has my knowledge of the terminology used in the share market. In conclusion, I think I have gone from being a 'simpleton' to a 'ton' and I still remain 'all in'. Good luck! :)

What a great way to wake up! Check the phone and here we are: The share price up and all known ninnyhammers pre-filtered although, oddly, I do not see the boxes occurring in great numbers. Bliss.

I can't, for the life of me, remember where I read it now Jet. Maybe on the Telegram site. I'm not going to wade through it to find the posts. There are around 1000 per day! I certainly wouldn't suggest acting upon it but it's as interesting to know why a share climbs 10% in a day on no news as it is to descend 10% in day on good news.

Not at all Jet. I had read it elsewhere. There are rumours on Twitter of a takeover bid. That's all I can say.

Interesting the renewed attention from international traders. Some exciting news on the horizon beyond what we know here? Wasn't there some whispering about takeover bids on Twitter?
