The latest Investing Matters Podcast with Jean Roche, Co-Manager of Schroder UK Mid Cap Investment Trust has just been released. Listen here.
I love the imagery chippy. I picture you wearing some kind of Beano comic white apron, big hat and a broad smile, frying up the Friday Night Fry Up for all and sundry but with the mobile phone resting on the side, away from the cooking oil. (How do you avoid getting oil over the screen? That stuff wafts everywhere doesn't it?)
We've just finished the mother- of- all family video quiz that lasted three hours. I kid you not. I managed to deal with the waffle by quaffing some ridiculously cheap wine I picked up from the local supermarket on the way back from our mega walk. I only had 2 Euros in my pocket and was cautious about being able to find some. What was I worried about?! Eu 1.4 for one litre of bottom shelf vinho tinto. We didn't finish the bottle but we did finish last.
I could kill for a portion if Haddock and chips mind.
PS: Love the little 'slice of history' remark. :)
Thanks AM90. I seriously thought that we would be losing a portion of the weighting in view of the lower sp, so that is a nice surprise.
I could be wrong, normally am, but I think the price today will descend as a result of some GDXJ share provision jiggerypokery and will spike up just after trading hours following the reset. Monday will then start high for about three milliseconds while the pre-trades will knock the stuffing out of it. Then normal trading will begin. :)
Yes panama, it is truly addictive. I don't think I have missed a day for 18 months or more. Good luck Gervaise! The journey has been amazing and still will be for us awe-struck shareholders. Now onwards again to the next horizon.
An interesting scene zoros! 94p. I reckon I would find it hard to resist that. It's a fascinating journey in any case.
Evening all. SD suggested that Havieron would becoming a working mine in approximately three years time. If a bid came in for GGP that could still be many months and several mre updates further along towards that target. That, in itself, would surely bring about a significantly higher sp than we are currently experiencing and therefore a bid that was 40% above the asking price in, say 2023, could be very juicy indeed.
There will be some great news, I am sure, coming to our attention tomorrow late evening. I'm really uncertain why the share price is not at a greater level to reflect this very strong possibility but I put it down to the twin evils of impatience and boredom combined.
The RNS this morning also serves to assimilate all the projects at various stages of development into one report and shows that it is an incredibly exciting time to be invested in Greatland Gold.
Oddly, I have just come off a zoom meeting with friends who are not invested but know how convinced I am about this. I couldn't go into detail but I cannot imagine anywhere else I would rather invest my money. Simple as that really and I told them so. Come on GGP!
Dave, I cannot recall the incident to which you refer but know Tig to be a strong stalwart of this share. That's all I can say really.
I have the fame of having been in the same room as Siobhan, Tig . I was invited into the counting hall as a 'counting agent' for the last general election. When she waltzed in she looked like royalty, with an entourage of genuflecting folk around her. Obviously she didn't know she had won at that point but I was pretty certain, having extrapolated the vote slips opened by about a dozen counters from several different 'black boxes'.
By all accounts from the folk around Stroud, she has been a little absent when needed in view of looking after her newly born. So she may not be the link you seek.
I firmly believe that the the drilling update on Wednesday evening and at least the one after it in three months will be excellent. Sandeep has up to the minute information on results and was still buzzing during last week's interview. Since what we will be informed about tomorrow is 'old' news to him, I simply cannot see any other outcome. More gold, more copper and.. I'm betting..still open at depth.
Bamps...I can't be the only one. The dedication you have for this company and the absolute belief in it, represented by the detailed analysis you present on numerous occasions, serves to fuel my sense of total inadequacy. I mean, look at you man! You have forgotten more than I know about base metals. Reams and virtual reams of data fill the screen on a regular basis and because we didn't meet at the Stroud 'do' I can only visualise you as Doc Brown from 'Back to the Future'.
I salute you sir. Long may your effervescent enthusiasm last because it is a major prop for all of us here.
Haha. He does indeed Impecunious. Here in the UK we apportion a kind of aggressive/superior label to anyone using the word 'look' at the start of their sentence. (Politicians do it and it is really annoying). However, if I have learned nothing else from this share it is that the Aussies seem to use it in the same way we say "Well...." at the start of a sentence.
I've decided that the share has become very boring, therefore I am going to sell the lot and become a wandering monk. I had the idea while in 'training' today; walking around aimlessly. All I need now is to perfect my, marginally fake, Chinese accent and look serene. That way, if a passing hedge fund manager should accost me while I am out appreciating all life, I will be able to deflect any negativity by, now you'll like this bit, 'using the assailants own force against him'!
I can see it now,
"Hey you! Yeah you! You did it alright. You sold all those GGP shares and forced the price down!"
And I can reply, "I have...forced...no...one" and deftly step aside as I parry the blow from the assailant's I pad leaving him to fall to the ground with a muffled thud surrounded by a plume of dust.
Yeah. Lockdown eh. Hang on..there comes the sunset and I hear some kind of flute playing. Must travel.
For an assortment of reasons it would seem that we will not be able to grace the banks of the River Wey in May. However, since this would leave a couple of places available to new arrivals, I feel quite benevolent in making way.
I trust that a toast will be made to our new ceo and a resounding boo and hiss to the rotten old stinkin' '22p' market makers for ..well...just for being market makers really. (If any turn up please ensure a chain and block of cement is readily available).
You're both right. I am in error. For some reason I had 5.2 in my head. Too much walking around I guess.
There is a typo on page 32 unfortunately:
"Initial Inferred Mineral Resource estimate of 52Mt @ 2.0g/t Au, 0.31% Cu or
2.5g/t AuEq for 3.4Moz Au, 160Kt Cu or 4.2Moz AuEq"
Wouldn't that be nice? 52mt !
Hi Speedy, That's a very kind offer but I hope we will already be back in the UK by May visiting family, having been 'locked out' for six months. If not, it will be because we are still forbidden from travelling not only within Portugal but also to the UK from Portugal. It's an open air prison here again! That's why I have kept quiet about the event.
I've just finished a nine mile walk. In a ridiculous self-challenge I've now decided to add half a mile each day until we get free again. Sometimes it feels the share price will be £1.44 before that becomes possible!
We try to be rational people and make decisions that are based upon facts and the extension of those facts, which would probably described as judgement.
The facts about GGP have been carefully researched by a fantastic group of learned investors here. That research includes links to interviews with senior management as well as the dissection, into layman's terms, the data contained within formal company announcements, (including those from Newcrest).
These facts, so ably assessed, should have provided sufficient information for all of us to feel very comfortable with our decision to risk our capital. We are invested in an historic discovery at Havieron. It's mind-blowingly huge and everyone wants a piece of it for the cheapest price they can get it.
Doesn't it seem a bit odd that at precisely the time when the value of the mineral wealth, still contained within the site at Havieron, starts to become blindingly obvious to the general market that the share price should descend by 40%? This is the judgement bit. Would you not think that perhaps those whose business it is get a share price moving up or down would do their level best to feed fear or greed as it suited them?
The mineral wealth is there as well as, potentially, at several other sites. Do not be fooled. Hang on to the seatbelts, hands firmly planted and wait for this to blast off again!
Very interesting video that and I agree, when he is asked to list out the things that persuade him to invest, you can tick every one for GGP.
PS , please do not leave Bamps. The green filter box is available. There is still time to save yourself!
Yes please to the link Speedy. In the meantime, I've just been reminding myself about Claudio Gentile on youtube. Hope he is isn't related to him!
