He can be prone I think to a little sales spin, but for the second time he made reference to “Made in the USA”

We’ve been told that our Madison lease is for a commercial office and lab, but these repeated “Made in the USA” comments suggest we may have plans to start manufacturing there (or perhaps elsewhere in the US) next year.

Further to my last, the ABDX post also confirmed that Yates will be in India next week as part of a trade mission hosted by Healthcare U.K., part of the Dept for Business and trade. More details of it are here

ABDX posted this earlier. I don’t think I’ve ever seen them post anything quite like it before; it certainly looks like they want to demonstrate how active they’ve been, so maybe they’ve seen the share price too.

Cryptic comment about “watch this space for December”. Do they just mean they’ll be at more conferences, or are they perhaps referring to something juicier. Who knows!

Just to throw in some other observations on this..l

On the last IMC presentation CH said we have a number of PCRD projects on the go, and stressed these were across animal as well as human health.

Through 2024 we’ve now had two senior people at ABDX make comment about the need for a bird flu LFT, most latterly Nina Garrett. Worth noting as well that Yates has since reposted her comments, saying she makes an important point.

Nina Garrett has been leading the charge on ABDX presentations about the LFT/molecular crossover throughout 2024 (ie PCRD)

Nina Garrett has been part of UKHSA 100 Day Mission Meetings, designed to deliver much quicker reaction to new pandemic threats.

Both the CDC and UKHSA are watching HN51 closely, and the U.K. recently upgraded risk from low to medium.

Overall it’s not currently a big thing. But IMO there really is a good chance we have a molecular bird flu test in the pipe, perhaps developed in conjunction with UKHSA, which could prove a money spinner if outbreaks continue to rise and we see more evidence of human infection and transmission.

Of course, this is conjecture and could just be piffle!

So, I think we can deduce that like previous years H1 has been slower but expectations for H2 means we’re on track for full year “solid” revenue growth. It’s basically what Yates said in the last IMC Q&A.

So our Liam Currivan commented on the post, to which Crest replied;

"Thanks Liam … already lots of interest in our saliva pregnancy and sustainable pregnancy kits … with the fact we are Made in the U.K., and in the next 12months Made in the USA, providing extremely popular."

Worth also noting that he's presenting at the Private Label Manufacturers Organisation. in other words, he's pitching to retailers who want to brand Salistick (like Boots in the UK), or consider the Eco-Flo cartridge as a replacement in current own brand tests.

That is the market that Yates says we're targeting. Being in the USA now can't hurt either.

Crest Sales Director is currently in Chicago and just posted this. You will see from the video that they are saying Salistick and Eco Flow are "New for 2025".

Oh, and just as a bit of a throwaway, the interviewing journo (Mousumi Bakshi) was appointed a Trustee of Addenbrooke Hospital Trust back in May, that being the local hospital to Upfront.

That was a little while ago now Lucksin, when UF were selected for IDAP.

Just a little observation on Upfront.

It’s a school Alumni interview from 5/11 with Danielle Murphy at Upfront, within which she says “ I moved back to Cambridge in 2022 and started as a lab scientist for a start up company called Upfront Diagnostics. I have progressed in my role to become the QA manager and now the Customer Support Manager in preparation of going to market.”

Her LinkedIn page shows she became the CS manager in October.

So everything still seems to be pointing at pretty imminent commercialisation. And of course, you don’t need a CS manager unless you have customers.

The relevant case number for the Vast BP insolvency proceedings is 1440/100/2024. The case was registered on 31 May, and the Court directing that a preliminary table of creditors be prepared by 12 August with any creditor appeals against exclusion from that table submitted thereafter. Rejected creditors subsequently appealed with those appeals registered as separate issues under the same overarching case registration. One example is case umber 1440/100/2024/A3,. The last update to that case was made yesterday, and reads " Postpone the ruling in question to 28.11.2024. Pronounced by making the solution available to the parties through the mediation of the registry, today, 14.11.2024."

I fully agree that the next hearing in the overarching case of 1440/100/2024 isn't until April next year. But creditor appeals against rejection by Vast from the creditors table will be decided on 28/11, as I said previously. If you don't believe me, then you like anyone else can read the Court records yourself.

Ultimately I don't really think those 28/11 decisions are going to have a huge bearing on anything. But please don't accuse me of "muck raking" without taking time yourself check information for yourself.

The court hearing seems to me to have been nothing more than part of the admin process, whereby Vast presented those creditors they wanted to exclude and gave a general operational update. The public records indicate that on 28/11 the Court will rule whether to exclude those creditors. presumably having heard arguments for and against yesterday.

I agree that being able to schedule repayment of debt over a 4 year period is a good thing for Vast, but I think that ability came from when Vast first entered the insolvency procedure rather than from the hearing yesterday. In other words, its not new. But in that respect it really is worth having a look at Note 20 in the accounts, which sets out the agreed repayment schedule for these debts, basically c£3m this year and next, and £4m the following. Where is that coming from?

If there was a positive, it was simply that the Court has allowed Vast to continue with the re-organisation plan rather then put a halt to the whole thing.

I can’t imagine CLA would be granted permission to announce details of the funding partner unless it’s more or less nailed on.

Extension granted until 13 March 2025 to satisfy funding conditions pending DD completion by the proposed investor.

BUT

The application for an extension was made in July/August, since when of course MVK has done various interviews saying completion of the DD and announcement of funding was past due; AND

we now have confirmation that the proposed investor is the Philippine Sovereign Wealth Fund.

Well, I suppose I’d qualify as a “ramper” given everything I’ve posted on here over the years, albeit I’ve tried to add balance.

I’m still here, but just is disgruntled as others. I knew we’d be in for a quiet news quarter but it’s irksome that Yates flatly refuses to give us much idea of the projects we’re working on at the moment. And I have to say that whilst we have our sales director is at MEDICA (a source of much business), all the focus seems to be on the Ivdeology and CS stands on ABDX socials.

I like that we’ve expanded our reg services arm, but that’s not really why I invested.

Sadly I think Q3 is when we’ll start to get news and Upfront remains, at least for me, the most real and exciting prospect.

I do still believe in the fundamentals and, on that basis, reckon we’re now cheap to add at.

I don’t think there’s a video feed Touk and if there are Q&As it will only be for those in attendance. If history repeats we may get an AGM statement by RNS on the day commenting on H1 performance, but that’s it.

Just oit of interest, but I noticed from the ACP accounts that it has a significant investment in a company called Celsius Resources, which is listed on both the ASX and AIM with ticker CLA.

I've had a look at it - its trading at all time lows but seems on the cusp of significant project financing for its flagship copper/gold project in the Philippines. Earlier this year it was the first company in 15 years to secure a licence from the now very pro mining government, with speculation that project funding will come from a new Philippines sovereign wealth fund. It looks a good thing to me on the face of it and whilst ACP have been terrible at getting Mahenge advanced they do seem to have a good nose for investments.

Anyone here know anything about it?

52 North put out this today with heavy indication that one of their biggest milestones will be achieved very soon. Nice to see they presented to NICE in October as part of the IDAP scheme.
