2 interesting bits for me.

1 - There is again a commitment to Made in the USA within the next 12 months for diagnostic kits, in collaboration with us as their diagnostic partners.

2. They refer to ovulation test kits (the first time I think I have seen that), which has made me wonder if this could be the next Boots own label product we will supply for their self testing range.

Worth remembering as well that in a post from 3-4 months ago Crest said they would be launching the first Eco Flo test within 6-9 months.

Last year it was the second Thursday in Jan. This year that that would be this Thursday.

Given the number of reactions to the related LinkedIn post, he seems pretty well known in the industry, and it’s notable that Andrew Mole reposted it saying “ An incredible person joining an exceptional company”.

I know we’re out of Athlos, but given all this, the fact Mole founded Pubx and is a Director of CIQ, and Halley/keiths shareholdings and involvement in all these companies, the whole lot of them including GFIN seem connected to me.

Just for info, but you can see from here that the IDAP pilot finishes in March. One might hope/expect that at least one of the 8 companies in the pilot would see their tests integrated into the NHS by then, given that was the whole point of the scheme. In that respect, we have 2 of the 8 shots on goal.

These were presented at the Stroke Association Forum last month, with Upfront's CSO hailing the test as being more accurate than current offerings, with emphasis on the tests ability to rule our LVO stroke.

Well, I did a little digging and found the actual results as presented.

I'm no expert in these matters, but it seems to me that the strength of the test isn't in determining whether or not a patient has LVO and so needs re-direction to a specialist centre (in fact it doesn't strike me as being particularly great at that), but its ability to rule out LVO (and so avoid unnecessary overload at specialist departments). In that respect it was correct 86% of the time.

Upfront have already said they expect to publish the full results in a major publication.

We know little about FOFH, but we do know 2 key facts;

For what appears to have been work to get to and conclude tech transfer, we charged c£500k

To do the analytical, performance, testing and reg work, we are charging $2m (about £1.6m)

So for those 4 tests that's c£2.1m to develop and get to the point of commercialisation, being roughly £525k per "full development service" (which excludes subsequent manufacturing/distribution income).

Rough guestimates I know, but that doesn't sound shabby to me.

Good news indeed! Feels like it’s gap filling at the moment.

That would be pretty reasonable I think.

If that were the case though, then (even relatively conservatively) we might forecast FY revenue at say £11-12m (with plenty of shots on goal to get there) alongside a move to sustainable profitability.

It’s why I think current MCAP is ridiculous!

I’m expecting the H1 trading update to drop in the next couple of weeks (alongside confirmation that the Madison space is up and running ), and eyes will be focussed on profitability and outlook statements. Personally I think we will see a reduction in losses compared to H1 last year, but not a profitable period. That would be fine by me because H2 is always better for us.

Of course, any H1 numbers showing actual profit will, at least for me, prove we have finally turned the tanker and hopefully get the SP moving.

Again, for anyone interested, Andrew Mole is also the founder (2020) of a company called Pubx.ai. Both Halley and Keith acquired shares in it during 2024.

Merry Xmas all, and glad my musings etc have been of some interest.

I’ve not met him but, likewise, I’ve been impressed with his focus so far and am comforted that his interests align heavily with ours.

The markets can be a strange beast can’t they…

We started 2024 at 10.25p. Since then we’ve further improved the financials, attracted heavy II investment, expanded our services offering and expertise, grown every part of our business, expanded into the biggest geographic market globally, made top tier retail relationships, attracted a wide and diverse customer base, have 2 IDAP customers, demonstrated the capacity to provide a full suite service offering, and been invited onto government backed trade missions and national pandemic preparedness meetings.

And yet the price has fallen to 7.75p.

As I say, a strange beast.

For me it’s one and the same, so it seems clear to me that Swiftr are amplifying A sample using CRISPR (which is a compatible amplification method for use with PCRD), and then using our PCRD product to create the LFT.

The point is that I think they will use CRISPR to amplify samples for whatever pathogen they’re interested in, but then always use our PCRD product to create the final test. So, as they develop tests for more pathogens, we are likely to make more money.

We know about salmonella. It looks like they have one for listeria. There could be others….. and then of course there’s bird flu…!

For over a year now I’ve been suggesting there’s a tie up between us and Folium so I can’t believe I missed this (from a year ago!) which pretty much confirms it.

As you can see, the post lauds the launch of the SWIFTR Biosensor range and thanks the development team, including us.

SWIFTR Biosensor is a trading style owned by a company called Gain Holdings Ltd, the officers of which are all associated with Folium. It was set up in June 23 and makes use of CRISPR technology to create lateral flow tests. Interesting then that ABDX put out this blog a couple of months later - it’s the only time I can recall them talking about CRISPR.

For anyone unaware of CRISPR, do research it! It was a Nobel prize winner in 2020.

Over the last year SWIFTR Biosensor has created its own website and social media pages, distinct from Folium, and it’s been actively posting.

My bet is ABDX are involved with everything they’re doing, and have been pretty much since Gain was incorporated in 2023.

The single biggest point about SWIFTR is that it is, apparently, highly customisable (as well as very accurate).

For info, we knew Salignostics were working on their site and yesterday they announced its launch.
