I see that Ronan Murphy (CEO at GV) is a member of the AI Advisory Council, which was created by the Irish govt in Jan 24 to give it expert advice on its AI policy.

Apart from having a direct link with govt and influence over Irish policy (when govt’s everywhere are pushing AI), it just tells me how well he must be regarded. And of course the networking must be fantastic!

Given the aggressive way IR are growing, I would assume very high demand.

The fact they managed to privately raise $3bn is extremely telling in my view.

If I understand it, IR were essentially going to IPO following its (intended) acquisition by SPAC, Newbury Street Acquisitions. The parties had been in negotiation for a couple of years, with NS essentially providing growth funding.

Interesting to see, therefore, that in December the deal was terminated.

Having spent a while researching this PM, it seems the most likely reason is that IR simply outgrew NS and didn’t need mkt access following its $3bn private raise. It would also explain why IR followed quickly to announce its agreement to establish a secondary mkt.

So, my take is that we had private parties desperate to get into IR and were ultimately prepared to do so at levels which meant IR no longer needed NS. That means that in the shortish term we may find the secondary market is the only place buyers might access stock (so squeezing price assuming high demand), but also the only place SVV can sell. How that secondary mkt is established will be key for us.

The Sure Q4 NAV calculation will be interesting I think, with a fair chance based on history of that coming during Feb. It was 20/2 last year after Q3 was announced 12/12/23. Q3 24 was announced 4/12/24.

If GV does report soon with great results (as suggested below), then coupled with the most recent IR valuation I think we should see another significant NAV increase (all other things being equal).

Indeed Bubble - and the “timely” introduction of the options tells me where the company thinks its share price is headed.

One other thing I’ve been reading about is that very often demand for stock on Nasdaq secondary/private markets outweighs supply. Were that to happen with IR it would naturally benefit SVV either in that mkt or as a determination of IPO price.

There is clearly very significant value in IR, which it says itself is in a “hyper growth phase”, and it seems to me that the establishment of a secondary market not only offers liquidity, but also the potential to squeeze the price up as determined buyers fight over constrained supply.

But then what do I know!

I’m only a novice, but it does look to me that we’ve had a 50/200 golden cross, supported by volume, all against a backdrop of massive US and U.K. support/investment for AI innovation and with diverse holdings well placed to take advantage.

We do seem to be in a sweet spot with a nicely diversified portfolio exposure and huge potential uplift. If anything is holding us back, I think it may be uncertainty about when value can be realised - when, for example, will the IR secondary market actually be established?

Whatever, our IR exposure alone tells me we are way undervalued and other news could drop anytime in relation to other portfolio companies. Happy I’m in!

I was looking through the Sure Valley portfolio of companies and noticed Engage XR, which interested me because it’s listed on AIM (EXR) and saw its share price jump from 66 to 220 following an announcement a couple of days ago. It’s dropped back to 155 now, but even that represents a good uplift.

Really asking those who have been here a while - would I be right in thinking we have exposure in this through one of the SVV funds. If we have, I wonder if SVV took advantage of the rise to exit?

In short, it looks to me like iR have launched what is essentially a Landvault product, being a digital mirror of the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (which drives the flow of global trade through Dubai). Very interesting indeed....
