Great post. Agree with everything you say, not least the high degree of political motivations at play here! Other telling points for me are;

The ramp up of manufacturing capacity - why do this if you have nothing to make.
The strong suggestion of heavy recruitment and a move to 24 hour working patterns - again, why if you don’t expect to be manufacturing.
The fact that in the interview the CEO talked about pricing and said the tests WILL be made and WOULD be sold to the govt for sub £10

This is just a matter of waiting and then watching the rise....

The other Director is Richard Hughes (boohoo, Zeus Capital).

Can’t believe someone of this calibre would join a start up (Medusa) unless he felt it was going places, even with the boohoo connection.

Reassuring that our distribution partner is being run these 2 guys IMO given their experience and track records.

The fundamentals are all still there, posts this morning strongly suggested ODX are recruiting heavily and going to 24 hours shift patterns, and the RNS said tests WILL be manufactured. It has been disappointing today but I nevertheless topped up at the close.

Thanks for confirming - am relatively new to these BB’s and so was unaware of his reputation. In truth, the quality of his posts speak for themselves, like RK and Ophidian.

#bigbitenow has posted an update comparing SONA progress with AVCT. Never sure how much faith to put in Twitter posts but Myles has previously advocated this guy if memory serves, and I found it an interesting and encouraging read

Well personally, as a pretty new investor, I really appreciate threads like this that give both sides of an argument. I’m sticking with GDR for many of the reasons given below, but the note of caution Safy raises is fair I think

I’ve held on patiently for lots of reasons, among them the fact that the DHSC appointed Allis as the RTC chair at the beginning of May. If the govt didn’t think the RTC efforts were going to be successful then why would they do that, and why would he accept? The govt need a home grown success story.....

Have to be honest though, nerves are beginning to set in and any update news would be welcome.

No idea either I’m afraid. On a similar subject, I’ve been trying to figure out why some trades seem so to be ridiculously small, whether buy or sell? Are these legit transactions or is it something to do with the way MMs manage the book? Sorry if this is an obtuse question.

I was aware about who Danaher are and their link to AVCT through Cytiva. I suppose my observation is that on 12 May Danaher completed a significant capital raise to, amongst other things, fund new acquisitions, and So I thought it interesting that only since then have AVCT started to make mention of them in RNS.

Probably irrelevant but I noticed that in the 15 May RNS Cytiva were described as being “formerly GE Healthcare Life Sciences and now part of the Danaher Group” whereas in all previous RNS, including that just a few days earlier, they were just described as “formerly GE Healthcare Life Sciences”.

Like I say, probably irrelevant....if so then sorry for posting!

I ventured into AIM as a novice about 9 weeks ago with an amount I could afford to lose, but hoping to make money. I knew I was completely ignorant, particularly about the more “Wild West” nature of this market, and so I’ve been reading a lot of BB. Boy have I learned a lot! Never before had I heard of a “tree shake”, “ramping”, “de-ramping” etc nor did I really have any understanding about the shenanigans used by MM’s (which I had thought we’re confectionary!). After doing as much of my own research as I could I then stuck some of what I could afford to lose in AVCT and, to be honest I did so in the hope of “multi-bagging” (another new phrase!). Since then I’ve held my nerve through the shakes, largely because of the experience of those on these boards, and been trying to keep up to date with developments.

And then I watched the presentation and my whole mindset changed. To hear about the good that AVCT has the potential to do and the progress it’s made was truly uplifting and, tbh, left me feeling a little grubby about my original Money making intentions!

I now feel proud to own a very small piece of this remarkable company.

Anyway, these are just some musings and a thank you to all of your for helping my understanding along the way.
