I noticed regular loves ins between Senior Abingdon staff and a company called Pockit Diagnostics for a while.

Pockit Diagnostics recently changed its name to Upfront Diagnostics, and they have been developing a test to diagnose severe stroke - details are here https://upfrontdiagnostics.com/developing-a-rapid-test-for-diagnosing-severe-stroke/. The major aim it seems isn't just speedy patient diagnosis, but to save the £120bn of costs associated with wrong or late diagnosis across national health services.

Note that "collaborators on the project include the NIHR Clinical Research Network for the North East and North Cumbria, Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, Northumbria University, North East Ambulance Service, ABINGDON HEALTH and Qarad."

They secured £790k - "The second phase of funding, awarded in January 2023, is being used to produce the test in large quantities and evaluate its accuracy in a real-world patient population."

So you can bet your bottom dollar that this is another company we are providing CDMO services to, that some of that £790k is coming our way now, and that ultimately we could be producing a test saving £bns.

Worth remembering that Salignostics is a small company (13 staff showing on linkedin). They will have needed help to develop, to CE mark, to put in the FDA pre-submission, and to manufacture.

That would not surprise me. They are scientists - they have no idea how to get their science into a fully working regulated LFT.

Yep! Most of this was "pre launch" marketing for general awareness from months ago - imagine what mainstream and social media coverage might be for actual launch

Thought I'd post this in case anyone has the time or inclination to read it.

Basically it says the our national health model as it stands is knackered, and that govt need to spend on promoting healthy living and focus on enabling faster and better diagnosis both by clinicians and, crucially for ABDX, individuals themselves.

That is the direction of travel, and we will be right in the mix....

Interestingly, that's very nearly as many twitter followers as Boots and Lloyds combined.

Superdrug also concentrate on cosmetics, so at the risk of being out of touch (!) that would indicate a female audience.

They also have a relatively limited range of pregnancy tests - basically own brand, clearblue, and some eco friendly ones that don't seem to be doing very well given the lack of reviews.

Well Superdrug have 215k twitter followers and 71k linkedin followers, so even putting some things out on those feeds would get us going....

Some have been saying that ABDX have arranged an exclusive retail channel as part of the launch. If that is true then I suspect its with Superdrug, and if that's true then I do wonder if any exclusivity agreement would require Superdrug to advertise it....

Lot of "ifs" I know!
