Hmmm - on the one hand I wouldn't put it past AP to know there's a problem but keep quiet. But then I cant see that Capstone would have invested if they weren't comfortable re the diamonds coming back, and indeed with some detail about their value.

If I were to guess I'd just say that the Zim govt are prolonging matters with a view to wringing something from us in other negotiations. We are, after all, a bit over the barrel and need those diamonds back.

Just a question, but if funding through a licensing deal was “assured” or “nailed on”, shouldn’t that have been notified to the market?

Although what it does demonstrate is their firm belief in the same CDMO rapid diagnostic space that we are in

@DJP -can I ask, did Nigel give you any kind of hints, or indicate any other issues when you spoke with him? Did he concerned at all, or perhaps excited?

Sorry but there should be no reason not to have accounts filed by the deadline and therefore avoid suspension. The company must be a breeze to audit and produce accounts for given its lack of trading activity!

I do wonder in truth if the lack of activity might in fact be the reason for the delay - I think I am right in saying that under AIM rules a business must continue to trade to remain listed, so if the accounts were to show otherwise....?

But then DJP has it from the horses mouth that the delay owes to nothing more than backlog at the auditors, and so I suppose we will have to take that at face value even though it seems convenient.

I called them again today - the person I spoke to said she said they were still awaiting the stock and had been told to tell people 4-6 weeks before customers would actually be able to get hold of it.

I suppose looking at pictures posted on linkedin ABDX might only be receiving the inserts for the test (rather than the packaging), and will have to stick these into their own branded packaging before selling but still, I don't think it will take 4-6 weeks given we know the shipment left Salignostics on 23 May.

Everything is pointing to an imminent launch. Salignostics, a company that rarely posts on linkedin itself, but has suddenly started to do so, has been posting (yesterday) about commercialisation, and AST also have been posting various things signposting launch as well.

Hope so.

I do wonder how long ABDX have actually been in bed with Salignostics. We know they are a CDMO client, and that process takes a while. I suppose I am just wondering if this relationship might have been a driver behind the combined £75k investment that Yates and Hand made at the end of Sept last year.

Just means it needs to be registered with the MRHA in the UK for sale. ABDX confirmed MRHA approval in the 31 March Interims

Yep - as Salignostics say on their site

So they know how important marketing is, and they did well getting it into mainstream press a few months ago. Let’s hope the launch marketing is as good or better!

Yep, we shall see, and soon!

But as others have said, ABDX isn’t this one pony. It’s taken proper and prudent action to right size and re-position post covid, and has a number of irons in the fire, not least with Senzo and it’s PCR accurate LFT tec, and saliva based tec. It’s already highlighted that H2 revenues will be materially higher.

I'd add this is co-branded with Abingdon Simply Test in the UK - if it does do well, which I think it will given the right marketing push, then the whole brand gets exposure.

To use the test you pop a stick in your mouth, and then screw it in to the test. There are just two components for the user to worry about - the stick and the bit it screws into.

On your other points;

Salignostic surveys suggest women would prefer a saliva test (68%) with only 11% saying they preferred urine test and 21% without a view. But then I suppose their survey would say that....

Will it be trusted by women...? Who knows, but that's the risk. It will either fly and become mainstream or languish amidst all the other pregnancy tests available. Marketing will be key, as will the user experience and accuracy.

Will it be easily available - that's what we're waiting to see, but i would certainly expect it to be available from Lloyds Pharmacy, and Amazon immediately The hope of course is a mainstream retail pharmacy.

Will it be priced competitively? We're selling it a £9.99 which is pretty comparable in the market - more expensive than some and cheaper than others.

For me this is potentially disruptive tec in a big market; its also a pre-cursor to Saliva based home use tests generally, for all sorts of conditions.

Would not surprise me at all to see Launch next Monday, or possibly later this week, with media coverage over the weekend.
