Workers waked out on 21st because they'd not been paid from a few days before. Not great at all if we've only just managed to get cleared funds to pay them now, a week later.

Don’t know if this is of interest to anyone, but Genscript Bio issued its interim report in June, detailing on p16 a 1.22% holding in AffyXell which they value at $810k. I suspect that may be understated - looks like they simply used the cost value presumably because no revaluation of the asset had been undertaken at the time of the report.

Based on the June RNS, we currently have a 19% stake. That will change following the milestone payment announced at the time, and a revaluation.

But even if we were to use the understated $810k, 1.22%, and 19%, then I reckon our current value there is c$12.5m. It is likely to be more.

We know the drug demonstrates excellent safety and tolerability. We've seen "large, very large" tumour reduction in an STS patient. We have ODD for STS. We are now chucking the kitchen sink at STS in the parallel study, I am assuming (amongst other things) to see if we can replicate the tumour shrinkage in more STS patients.

It just seems to me that the parallel study may already have one eye on AA for STS. If the surrogate endpoint for the purposes of AA might be tumour shrinkage, and we can further demonstrate such shrinkage, then the argument for AA in the round must surely strengthen given we are talking about a well known and established drug.

No doubt we’re already in good conversation with the FDA but, whatever, we’ll be submitting our annual report to the Office of Orphan Product Development shortly (due within in 14 months of ODD grant) setting out development progress and investigational plans for the next 12 months.

I’d have thought they’d have tried to raise if cash is as tight as it seems. Might they now be having trouble even doing that…?

Actually, not sure there is an early redemption option granted to Avacta under the bond terms so scrap my last!

I’d guess the same as you Goldstandard.

He said he wants to prioritise non dilutive funding options and I imagine that early release of data supports that, especially given the number of superlatives he’s used to describe what he’s seen in the data so far.

Don’t know if this has already been posted, but U.K. Investor Magazine included Avacta in the c6 announcement in a podcast today.

It’s a bit muddled but fundamentally they agree that the c6 results were “groundbreaking” with a massive potential market.

Agree - AS was clear in the podcast just yesterday that he is in no rush to raise capital and would in any event be prioritising non dilutive ways of doing so. Given the data, those avenues seem to be expanding. All this talk of a placing is just nonsense in my view.

Seems to me they’re approaching it a different way…

“Let’s forget MTD, we could go on forever. It’s safe and tolerable, so let’s up the dosing frequency instead”

Agree Timster, the different trial protocol is interesting. But so was (at least I thought) their willingness to give details about reduction in tumour size.

At the Feb science day presentation, Camsirubicin was listed as one of the few other STS drugs in development. It’s a dox analogue.

On a potentially more positive point, I’ve been noting Yates has been liking posts from a small Turin Uni spin out called Nib Biotec, who are developing a prostate cancer screening test. He doesn’t tend to do that unless ABDX has some involvement. May be nothing of course, and it seems to me they have some way to go anyway.
