Noticed that Chris Yates liked a post from a company called Folium a couple of weeks ago, in which they simply announced they would be launching a new product at an Agri-Tech conference in November.

They posted this today - it shows the new product is an LFT to detect Salmonella in animals.

Obviously can't be sure, but I strongly suspect ABDX are involved given Yates often comments or reacts to posts from companies ABDX has involvement with, and of course because it is an LFT.

I have no idea about the scale of the market for it, even if we are involved.

For info, William Bachovchin will be speaking in person at the May 2024 TIDES conference in Boston next year. His agenda session is described as;

FAP is a serine protease with an unusual specificity, in that it cleaves after proline, and an unusual expression profile, in that it is selectively and highly overexpressed in most human tumor tissues. These two factors combine to make it a reasonable choice to target in designing tumor activated prodrugs. We have designed, characterized and optimized a number of prodrugs activated by FAP and will review how well these are working and how they might be improved still further.”

Agree Apre - fwiw, the business seems to me to be prudently resetting by concentrating on CRO and CDMO fee work. That’s a cautious approach as it looks to secure its foundations, and there certainly seems to be an uptick in those opportunities.

But the real money here will be in taking a product through the process which thereafter has significant demand, perhaps like the Sepsis or Stroke tests which represent effective and cheap solutions and which could save billions in future healthcare costs. That to me should be highly attractive to National Health services globally, and if we make it the spondoolies should roll in.

Interestingly, the include the phrase "whilst we await FDA approval".

That will be a key kicker for them I am sure, and I hope for us given, as Yates confirmed yesterday, we are manufacturing a component of Salistick (probably the strip I think). For lots of reasons, I really hope the current middle eastern troubles don't escalate.

Yep! His trade of 150,000 at 10.67 is shown on yesterdays trades.

Interestingly though, there is another for 250,000 which may also be a Director buy, possibly from Yates. It could of course just be someone else, or possibly someone else from the CP, but I wouldn’t be surprised at all if we had another RNS today saying Yates had bought too.

Completely agree Apre. And it certainly seemed to me that the Concert Party break up was driven by Directors wanting to buy. All in, a very positive presentation with no BS.

And nice to hear Salignostics featuring in Time Mag as one of the best new innovations, even if he was somewhat non committal on sales figures!

Perhaps also worth noting that a lot of Points tech (including but not limited to CanSeek) comes from William Bachovchin at Tufts.

It shows they have 212,500,033 shares now. They had just over 232m at the beginning of the month.

Looking at the last announcements, they’re normally intra day around 3pm. So likely to come later I think.

Just wonder if we’ve elected to pay cash….

Is it just me, or was anyone else expecting to see the normal quarterly issue to HCI today?

BTW, this link (from p15 onwards) gives a detailed history of the background to the point transaction. Interesting to see how things are done, if you have time over a coffee on a Sunday morning! Looks to me like Point opted for a lower offer rather than take a potential $20 p/s contingent on the expected Q4 results from their SPLASH trial.

Just for interest, but Matt Vincent (remember him) looks like he will walk away with $2.4m having joined Point from AVCT at the beginning of last year. Not a bad gig…

Just a question, but does anyone know if the XOFF trades have increased following the appointment of Peel as joint broker? If they have, can anything be drawn from that?
