Why is my post a "De-ramp" and if it is, why isn't Jamie's post (claiming 0.8p) a ramp? Sigh.
I here what you say regarding trading updates. You got one last year at end Feb so you anticipate another this year, fair enough. Given the interim accounts that trading update is likely to be positive (IMO) , i.e. I expect it to show/suggest that the end of years accounts will indeed show a profit for the first time. What this will do to the SP I'm not sure. For most companies, posting profitable accounts is the norm, we don't expect major SP shifts as a result of them. The SP shifts usually arise as a result of significant changes to productivity or assets which result in an increase in market capital. Thus for example, RRR's SP won't rise when it posts another set of end of year profitable accounts, but it will rise when it announces it is producing more product at it's mining sites or it it merges with another company etc.
Interesting that you also state "this will have a positive effect on the share price in the short term". For me that's a spike. Short term rise. If the SP moves up into a new banding and demonstrates strong support above previous levels then that's a true rise. I will await the Trading update with interest as I will with the end of year results.
