To be honest, 6 mths is nothing in investmet terms. If the fundamentals are sound, just sit back and wait for it to come good. When I first came here this was being ramped relentlessly (for specific reasons I think) and at the time it frustrated me no end that no-one would tolerate any serious discussion about the company. Nevertheless I made my peace with the rampers here I hope and left them to it. The bottom line for me with RIIG is that it's BOD are trying hard to turn around a company that hasn't returned a profitable set of end of year accounts for quite a few years. The last interim accounts were starting to look promising so we were looking forward to the end of year accounts and hoped they too would be positive. Sadly, they report another year of overall loss. This said, the levels of loss are coming steadily down each year so all is moving in the right direction. However the question will always be, how long can a non-profitable company be able to continue before the plug is pulled? Admin costs are still high compared to profits so that balance probably needs to change. Companies all over the country are laying off staff in the 100s and 1000s in the current financial climate and are battening down the hatches for the huge storm that is about to hit all of Europe and much of the wider world. Many things will change as a result of that storm. Many companies will go under.
Even so, next year could still see the first profitable year for RIIG and if so, if you invest now, you're sure to have a great investment on your hands. If another loss is reported though, then your money is stuck and at risk. So you pays yer money and takes yer chance I think. No reward without risk. For me personally, had we finally seen a profit this year I would have put my money in for a punt, but under the circumstances, I'm putting that money elsewhere. I just can't see companies being able to weather the coming storms if their business models are not at least profitable in some way. I'll be keeping an eye on RIIG though and will look at the next interims to see if things have changed any. GL.
