I’m not sure why you’re getting so upset Alex - I expect you’re quiet young, or inexperienced in business, or both. You say Melody have to pay John L and all the artists big bucks to promote Melody; I say you’re wrong and Melody shouldn’t have to pay a significant sum to the artist to promote the artist’s own content, as they will receive royalties every time someone views them on the app. It’s as simple as that. Put simply (for those that need it) if I’m selling apples on a farm, I will tell customers how to get to the farm to buy my apples. Does the farm pay me to get customers to my farm? Most unlikely. In fact, I would more likely have to pay the farm to sell my apples on their land. Enjoy the rest of your weekend :-)

The artists aren’t plugging Melody! They’re plugging themselves and the money they will make every time someone views their act via Melody!! Jesus, basics. Glad you are open to debate tho - shows a willingness to accept other people’s opinions, even if they’re right

The crux of your ‘general’ point re advertising and marketing is that we will have to pay the artists to promote their appearances/shows on Melody. I disagree. If we have to pay artists to self-promote when they will also get sizeable royalty payments there is a problem. I doubt that’s the case. There may be some payment for free content, but that’s not what your post suggests. Bring back the old guard! Brown Adder et al - where you at?!

Your 10:09 post suggests otherwise, that you are talking about wider marketing and advertising budget (very low limited you say) and the ‘one shot’ approach

Artists will be taking a (big) share of the revenue (when monetised), so doubt there will be significant advertising costs for artists self-promotion

Agreed Iofas. Zero point releasing the full library of top content before sale, particularly if the potential buyer has priced the library into future revenue as part of the valuation on sale. If they were to release and force the sp to increase exponentially, that would be detrimental to the purchase. Buyer has likely raised numerous pre-conditions/targets on sale that MVR have to meet, all without actively marketing. Just my opinion. I’m sometimes wrong.

A pen can sell itself if the demand is there - which it clearly is/will be. No need for MVR to do anything pricey and labour intensive other than showcase and fine tune the potential of the products on offer. Then sell to the right bidder, or when the bidder is ready to buy.

I’ve just bought the associated domain names, including .net and .us. MVR can buy them off me for big dollars in a few months time

This guy has just raved about trying Melody VR app in LinkedIn - he has had a lot of positive comments, including from melody’s Miles Lewis saying “ I think this is the way forward. The best. Ever (winky face). Big clue as to the future that! Check it out (not sure I can copy link on here but will try)
