If I was him, I would license the tech, use and rename the Melody VR app to something Broadway related and then allow him to focus and manage the theatre side, all under the Naspster Group umbrella. It still can be - they can have all said content on the Napster app, with or without links to the separate Melody app. The two could easily work in tandem. It may be that they want to free up space for day theatre productions solely on the Melody app, which wouldn’t be suitable for the Napster app

No it’s not tbh. If they are planning on relaunching both Napster and Melody when the new app is released that may explain it, but again we can only speculate.

… or maybe content from Napster and Melody will still be combined, as stated, but they’ll keep the Melody VR name and app as a secondary platform

Hi Dead - the AD does say that Melody and Napster would be combined into one app. I think it is clear from recent interviews that this has changed. Let’s hope we learn why and what the new strategy is soon!

Agreed BA - you’ve covered some of the ‘pros and cons’ alluded to in my earlier post. There are also tax and balance sheet benefits for having separate accounts in the UK and US

Yes I agree. Im all for keeping some company strategy private, away from competitors; but if we have moved away from the AD and previous notified strategy, we shouldn’t have to speculate to what degree. The outcome had better be epic to justify the silence is all I will say

Or they will use it solely for live VR performances for music and theatre etc (as suggested previously) and can then promote and advertise on the new Napster app. There are pros and cons for keeping Live VR content away from the new killer app, as well as having separate marketing teams for Napster and Melody.

…and I’m not surprised Bill P has gone as he was Mr Real Networks who we just bought Napster from!
