GF has banged on about this for years - ALBA never had the money nor could they attract a partner to develop the asset. So they floated it (and other assets) into GROC retaining a 54% interest (floated at 10p a share). GROC are more than 50% down since floatation GROC have also been unable to attract a partner and ALBA has lost about 75% of its value to ALBA. Investors should be bailing not topping up. GL will come calling for fund soon.

Alba did not participate in the placing, they had 11% of the shares before the placing - now they have the same number of shares but there are more shares in issue so they have been diluted. Clearly you never listened when in school.

Although telecoms are out of favour in what is currently a strong market (as measured by the FTSE100) VOD pay an excellent dividend and I am very happy with that. Is it really worth the government supporting a business like AFC. They have an expensive assembly/manufacturing plant, now full of bodies and yet they have sold nowt. They are paying their CEO a crazy salary, gifting him millions of free shares and delivering ever declining shareholder value. In the last year end report he told shareholder "2021 has been a transformational year for the company" and since then a few products have gone out for testing - feedback - zero. The next year end (about 8 weeks away) will be upon us soon - what carp will he spout this time around.
