don't forget the gov will get up to 19% back (minus overheads etc) in corporation tax. So that will be an incentive on its own.

I have literally no symptoms ( though I am at the tail end of a cold ) I'm not worried one way or the other. Often with vaccines the 2nd dose gives you more of a reaction. It has only been 27 hours - and I think I can expect symptoms starting up to 48 hours.

I think the governments price target is £6.67 based on the £8b tender for 12 months (100m a month).

I had mine yesterday - AZN vaccine - not overly worried at present. There was a similar death in Florida over the Moderna or Pfizer that couldn't be proved to be related. Here is an excerpt from the Express:

“It is currently not possible to conclude whether there is a connection. We act early, it needs to be thoroughly investigated.”

The EMA is also investigating the possibility of a defect in a batch of one million doses shipped to 17 EU countries.

The regulator said: “Although a quality defect is considered unlikely at this stage, the batch quality is being investigated.”



Doses in the batch were sent to Austria, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, France, Greece, Iceland, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Poland, Spain, Sweden and the Netherlands.

In a statement, the EMA added: “The information available so far indicates that the number of thromboembolic events in vaccinated people is no higher than that seen in the general population.

“As of March 9, 2021, 22 cases of thromboembolic events had been reported among the 3 million people vaccinated with COVID-19 Vaccine AstraZeneca in the European Economic Area.”

To be fair it isn’t anything that hasn’t been said before. Better and easier rapid tests will be a game changer and cheaper than PCR. This is the publicity that will force the government to start talking about sovereign tests being developed

Though I often wonder about the poor sods extracting and analysing screen scrapes of threads to try to work out the troll commission. I do wonder if it actually happens - or if it just performance based in relation to the share price movement in a set period. How is the profit/loss worked out? If they fail (like here today) do they have to pay back prior commissions like a failed short? I have no doubt that there has some motive to come on here on a good news day and spam with endless posts... and it would be obvious that it would be organised rather than the odd private shorter. I just can't help but think: surely you cut your losses and move on...?

Maybe I have missed something... is this just a 'Deeks LFT slander special'? I had assumed the press has argued about the chap's son who tested postiive on an innova LFT but then had a neg PCR that you were saying that the government have said that the PCR should trump LFT. Obviously the innova doesn't use the S protein... But perhaps Deeks doesn't understand that aspect (yet).

This is due to the lower specificity with the innova LFT. Ours should not produce any false positives (certainly far less). This is the weakest argument against LFTs even without our 2nd generation version. Who cares about a few false positives if they go on to get PCR confirmed. You have to think of the bigger picture, not individual cases.

Surely common sense should prevail. Neg PCR plus another neg LFT = good to go... maybe LFT the whole family to be sure.

So the tender is for £8b - but the detail is actually £8,004,000,000 (exc vat) for the 12 month period. I reckon the purchase price estimate per test is £6.67 (8,004,000,000/12/100,000,000) - so the government is looking to procure 100m a month and pay £6.67 per test. Assuming a 25% profit margin - that would be £1.66 profit per test. Obviously selling at a higher price to the EU would bump that up somewhat. For every 10m we could produce per month would put perhaps £1-2 on the share price assuming a 12-24m market. Obviously that doesn't take into account the IP. There would have to be some massive scaling up required - but I can't see how we won't be a part of this if the evaluation continues to go well.
