Kuurj, they've been told (I believe by government) to lay off the banks with the PPI claims. When that happened and only then... they started to target doorstep lenders. In all the years with the PPI claims, they've been fleecing mainly claimants and it cost the banks millions if not billions. I read an article a few years ago, that it was the MCMs themselves who also provided the PPI insurances. Well, not as such.. these insurances just opened a new branch, called it MCM and started claiming back their own money, which they never paid out. What a business model.

Kuurij, I didn't say to overrule the loan, but the vote in regards of "do you want the SoA", for without that nobody will get any compensation. That is what has been tarnished by the likes of Camel Woman, by her saying that Amigo is better off getting liquidated, in which case nobody would get a penny. The only way present and past customers will have a chance to get anything, is by the SoA getting passed. The CMCs and especially the Camel Woman, however, have worked very hard against that from happening. The latter did because they wouldn't get business, as they claimants would automatically get compensated, providing their claim is valid and the Camel Woman is just a sad leftist that on the rampage of scalp of the entire financial system.

If I was the presiding judge tomorrow, I'd give the CMCs a broad side they'd never forget. For they're even worse than the lenders Amigo (and Provi...who have that to come). They are the proper rip-off-merchants, for claiming money for a claim off the claim of people, without ever having had anything to do with nothing.

Jasonessex, the FCA have already said the won't object, but might change their mind later (or something like that) and I wonder what they might base a change of heart on? They surely know the SoA and so does the court. The only change of heart I can imagine would be the votes. But if the judge is clever, then he might overrule a vote, for the voting-opinion has in my mind already been tarnished to the disadvantage of claimants by the likes of Camel Woman, her side kicks (of which we had at least one in here...namely "jimmyG56" ;-) ) and the CMCs.

I'm sticking with Amigo :-) I'm far too exited to see it going off like a rocket :-)

gruntie, GJ said himself that past and present customers can't be treated the same. So that is covered. Past customers can be difficult to locate (moved house) and the contracts may have been different many years ago, there might have been a different interest, etc, etc, etc. GJ is trying his hardest to be fair on all customers and I can imagine that this like walking on a numerical tight-rope.
One question: How did Amigo operate? 20 or so years? So.. if they were sooooooooooo bad, then why did it only flag up about two years ago? ;-)

And...the court might decide that the vote has by now been tarnished by the involvement and bile-spitting of the CMCs and Debt Camel Herders ;-). After all.. a judge has to decide for the benefit of the 'victims' or not? And especially the Debt Camel Lady has more than once openly said, that Amigo should be brought to it's knees and destroyed and THAT can't be in the interest of any of the honest claimants!

It might not even come to any voting procedure. If the SoA is really good, then what for? Then let the claims get checked and let the valid claimants have their money/compensation (whatever). To turn this whole disaster from the previous BoD into a democratic nightmare would be ridiculous, imho. For most of the claimants it would probably be the first vote in their life.

Bigears, you stay put ;-) All will be fine! There are no monsters (Debt Camelteers and money-grabbing CMCs are the only exception and they don't have a say) ;-)

Plus!!! And this is very important now ;-) If GJ's plan was to be complete rubbish, then what court in the world would waste time on hearing it? ;-) These 'events' don't come cheap ;-)

The FCA can't take sides. At least not officially. That's why (in my opinioin) the FCA said that they would not....(I forgot how exactly they worded it, sorry)... but that statement was as close as the FCA can say 'yes', but saying "we don't object" (or something in that range). If the plan of Amigo was complete carp, then they could have easily said "Not a chance in Hell".
