RE: Dual Listing14 Jan 2022 21:14
Very interesting day today with the 2x RNS. I share the opinion of RS and others of this board that the formation of a new environmental committee does indicate a potential move to the US. In my opinion, I would think that the NYSE would be a better stock exchange for CINE rather than the NASDAQ? The NASDAQ is quite tech heavy and the NYSE tends to house everything else.
Either way, today’s RNS combined with the fact that Mooky was in New York just a few weeks ago does make me feel very strongly that a US listing is on the way. I have not been a big fan of it from the start of the idea due to the large tax on US dividends we have to pay from the UK, but if it opens up CINE to more investors and causes a nice rise in the sp then I’m ok with it.
PS: I think we need to think very closely about shorters. I am concerned that shorters will run immediately to CINE when we float in the US, Cinemark has a better financial position than us and they’re 17% short. Anyways, let’s see what happens. In reality, CINE would not go about spending the money to make new committees if they thought they were heading for insolvency, so if anything today’s 2x RNS gives me more confidence.
