@BlueBuxton - just had a look back at your post history and I’ve seen it, apologies for not getting back :)

NEX has been an investment since last year, after seeing its recovery it’s given me quite a bit of hope, so I’ve continued to average down. Hopefully is Mr Mark mentions it we can get a nice rise there too! :)

@Bonkers - thank you for the tip. My remaining free funds are about to go for another order of CINE today (very small amount left, so might as well top it up there).

JNJ might be the next one to sell off, so once that is complete I will look into it :)

@BlueBuxton - finally sold off UAL at $48 earlier this week for a decent profit. Proceeds have gone towards NEX and CINE mostly, with a very tiny bit gone to EVE.

I don’t know if they’re going to broadcast the court proceedings this time around? I remember hearing around here that they won’t broadcast it.

Nevertheless, if they decide to broadcast it I would be watching it all over again for entertainment purposes :)
No doubt whatsoever that Mr Mark and Rosenthal will be back with their shenanigans…

Another few shares at ~39.60 further to the other order at ~39.80 this morning.

RSI was sat around 40, so fairly confident that I’m buying at a decent price.

Contemplating selling JNJ for Moderna instead, perhaps split the proceeds from JNJ between CINE and Moderna…

@BlueBuxton - good afternoon and thank you! I was wondering about you the other day, hope you’re keeping well.

Top up done yesterday and today, FY results in March looking very promising considering how all of the other cinema chains have been doing globally.

Cinemark results coming out on the 25th, so that will hopefully be a good indication of how the US is performing too.

Ukraine isn’t part of NATO, so NATO have no direct obligation to assist Ukraine.

If Russia attacks the US in the process, then NATO gets involved. It wouldn’t be pretty :/

Fingers crossed they can diffuse the situation before it gets to that point.

Personally, I think Russia will make an ATTEMPT to invade to see if the US is as proactive as they say they are. If they see a chance then they’ll push forward and do it. It seems imminent, with Russia pulling their own people and government personnel out of Ukraine, the US and UK doing the same as well. Unfortunately, there is a lot of benefit for Russia if they successfully manage to take over Ukraine, particularly due to the Nord Stream 2 project. The increase in gas prices only puts further pressure on Europe to accept the project and further cement Russia’s influence and power over Europe.

I have a bit of free cash remaining which I am preserving for the moment. If any invasion occurs, it’s an open secret that the markets won’t like that.

Either way, just like most of these other market problems, CINE is not massively affected in any way. No sites in Russia or Ukraine. Nevertheless, hopefully we can get this out of the way; war and conflict is never a good thing for anyone.

@Rusclegg, so if someone finds a news story with Mooky inside and Mooky says they are concerned about some new variant (for example), then we should all stay silent and never bring it up and pretend everything is fine?

In that case, then the only person who we are fooling here is ourselves. It’s a chat board for conversation, not propaganda.

Rusclegg I think it’s a case of everyone has a different risk tolerance. No doubt whatsoever that there were many amongst us who were giving a lot of second thought with regard to our CINE investments when the Cineplex verdict came out.

Rusclegg you need to calm down a bit. I used to have the same mindset that if someone isn’t talking 100% positively that it just means they are a shorter/deramper. I’ve gotten into heated discussions with Bonkers and Fun and some others in the past with that sort of mindset, but overtime I’ve realised that it’s ok (and in fact, a good thing) to be objective and to view both sides of the equation.

Reality is that being a Cineworld investor is not rainbows and sunshine, there are big upsides (like the big rise we saw with Bond last year) and big downsides (like the Cineplex verdict), it’s about analysing your personal appetite for risk and making that decision for yourself.

@Dubman, D-Geeman and Yanis, thank you for the clarification. Indeed it is for just the UK and I segment of the business.

I do still believe that EVE will be profitable with time. EVE was saying ‘heading towards profitability in 2022’ not ‘expecting profitability’.

It will take time, but EVE will get there imo. The management is solid and they know what they’re doing, not to mention the fact that directors have bought within the last few months.

@Dubman, where did she say that the aim was £1.6m loss this year? The trading update shows breakeven.

Hello all, hope everything is well.

I have seen the rather negative outlook many are giving to EVE over the past few days. I think it’s good to remember that EVE has come a long way from where it was before. I do believe that CC knows what she is doing, and that she is trying to gradually build up a good level of growth. Under Jas, this company was expanding so quickly that we were headed for the ground.

EVE is aiming for breakeven this year, so I’m quite excited to see how that ends up. I personally think EVE can do it this year and hopefully we can head towards profitability in 2023/2024. I will be adding a bit more to my position tomorrow, EVE is just 1.4% of my portfolio, so probably will bump it up to 3-4%.

Good morning everyone! Nice 4.7% rise to get your day going. I was intent on purchasing more CINE when it was around 35, unfortunately I didn’t at the time.

Patiently waiting for UAL to reach my average so I can put a bit more into CINE and EVE :)

@Bonkers - Good evening, hope you are keeping well. From my post, I was talking more about the fact that US stocks tend to be open to more investors as a whole. I agree with your point that US listing = meteoric rise is not correct.

The issue with the current UK listing is that if an investor from the US wishes to invest, they would likely have to pay additional fees to their stockbroker to trade overseas, just as we have to here. If you move the listing to the US, you make it easier for prospective investors to come in. Because the US stock market is home to so many big names like AAPL and MSFT, the US is almost the go-to when it comes to investing (in a sense). I know UK investors who’s portfolios are all US based, it is almost a certainty that every single investor’s portfolio includes something from the US.

@Deano, I think the premise behind a US listing is two-fold.

1. Boost liquidity for the company. I’m not sure how exactly they’d do this without disadvantaging shareholders in the first instance, but my thought process is that CINE believes a US listing will be looked at moe favourably. That brings me to the second point.

2. Increased exposure to more investors. The US stock market is the envy of the world, and if you look at what happened with AMC you can quite clearly see there is scope for private investors to invest and actually make an impact on the stock price. I think CINE is hoping that by listing in the US, it will allow for more investors to enter the company.

Either way, I think it is a beneficial thing overall, the tax change for UK investors like ourselves that will be one of the negatives though. Let’s see what happens.

Agreed FunInvestor, in fact I couldn’t agree more. I do not think it is Mooky and his dreams all and for himself, he had plenty of opportunity to pull the rug from under us if he wanted to.

Only slight concern I have is with Israel (Deputy CEO). When COVID first came he suggested that Mooky and himself take the company private. Such a move at the time (when the sp dropped from c.180 to 50s) would have seriously disadvantaged all shareholders.
