it's hostile bid on Newmont according to Bloomberg TV this morning. Why is this of relevance?

It brings the gold players into focus with more potential investors, but more importantly, if the Newmont board doesn't want to be taken over by Berrick they have to either launch their own attack on Berrick OR, start making it more difficult for Berrick to succeed in taking over. The way to do that?

Give Newmont shareholders something better than a buy out by Berrick like oh, I don't know, buying a super promising explorer like GGP that you already know well.

Trust AAOG is not investing in oil in Congo for the presence or lack of economic freedom. They are there for the oil, same as the other international companies.
It seems that works perfectly fine, despite the ranking on the economic freedom list.

One would only post such rankings for a certain agenda. Well, out with it then as this is totally irrelevant!

Do you realise that you are speaking about the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) which is a mess and AAOG have their oil fields in the Republic of Congo. Two entirely different countries!

If you do want to post, at the very least get some of the basics correct!

That is very helpful info. Specifically the starving of exploration and the price of gold in ground. The latter is quite a bit higher then what we calculated with and the former confirms what we see happening now, merging to grow gold resource.

Spy, i could be a fan ;-).
The key change for me will be if solar paint is good enough to make a real change to the way electric vehicles are charged.
That will be a game changer. Together with battery life and total battery charge will change the industry.
For now, i can't tell what will go faster, as a lot of development is going into fusion to power cars as well and there are some very big companies behind that.

Anyway, back to the good stuff, gold, gold, gold. Oh, and copper ;-)

Truth, everybody has a price at which they will sell. The fact that they have bought in massively means they see the upside. That is our good news.
What they see it go to is their view entirely.
What they are doing though is kick-starting this share. That is exactly what we want.

Maybe not woody, but what it does do it build confidence. These guys don't buy more than 5%of the company in one go!! just for the hell of it. They have seen the data and the presentation and have decided this is the time to get in.

Clear on what he will and won't do.
Points out the ups and downs.
Focus on cashflow and seems to have a good grasp on the risks willing and necessary to take.
No further cash needed to bring 103c into production but it will be tight. Guess the first payment from snpc will help. Don't think that was factored into this presentation.

What I like most about this presentation is that DS states that with 103C they want to do the exact same as SNPC has already done 15 times before. Could get couple of hundred bopd more if riskier fracking method but doesn't want to be greedy as it could also backfire. 103C in production makes the company and opens up options for other things. Seems like a sensible approach!

Shame we have to wait for Schlumberger to fix their equipment to get 103c started.

Clearly SNPC is struggling with paying back the USD 10mln. However, as the RNS states, they see the same value in the field as aaog do and hence they want to keep their share of the company. Not what the board wanted but very, very good news. All the more because SNPC will know what our neighbours are seeing and are obviously convinced that paying USD 10mln is a better deal than reducing their stake to 15% or so!

1750, that is a massive difference in P/E indeed. I think BP's P/E is somewhere in the neighborhood of 15.5 at the moment at a SP of about 550.
This share is already at a SP of 750 with a P/E of 1 as you mentioned, indicating a much higher efficiency in making money. Now one can't really compare BP to rre but they are weighted in the same UK average basket which is at about 16.7.
For rre to get a P/E anywhere near the industry average it either has to 10 bag as you point out or it has to seriously decrease it's earnings while maintaining it's SP.

Well, the latter is not going to happen, but is the former possible? A SP of 7500 and more? On the merits above it should be, shouldn't it? However, it somehow feels weird compared to BP for example.

Daz, no agenda, just realism.

Indeed, good to stop the further rot from Bergen, but that was not what this thread was about. It is the Wide eyed Diamond dreams that are spun to us yet again in a different jacket.

When I read people rehashing Winston's message and that RNS as news then I just respond with truth, history and perspective. Wish it was different as we really could use some solid good news, but it isn't I'm afraid. Read the history carefully as Sandy said yesterday.

We need to focus on what we can control (Manaila, AO, BP, trucks), then the SP will follow. Not the other way around i.e. focussing on what could make the SP rise and then see how we can make some money. It's not sustainable. Just common business sense.

Anyway, that's it from me on this subject. All I wanted to do was point out that nothing has changed on the diamond mining, still.

Daz, so what is the news then? We knew 6 months ago that we would be mining for the heritage and that they had an 'in principle agreement' themselves with the zim gov that they could mine. It's still the same old waltz that Sandy was referring to yesterday.

Also we were told we would be one of the (four) companies mining in Zimbabwe, then we were told 'he' never said that and shortly after came the 4 companies that could mine and we weren't one of them. Now we are in principle going to mine in Zimbabwe. It's all the same rehashed stories. Nothing changed.

I see nothing new apart from taking the focus away from what really matters. New OA, trucks and BP. The rest is all pie in the sky and we know this company will do anything get their hands on money and never do what they promise.

New OT, trucks at Manaila and BP plan and funding to operations. That is all that should matter. That is what will get us making money and the so desired rise in sp.

Making money being the operative words!!

TT, nice documentary on the BBC last night. Bongo family trying to brush up it's imago after father Bongo made a bit of a mess.

Lots of oil there too and relatively safe environment. Bureaucracy and corruption issues, but guess that comes with the territory..
